โœจThe "Mercati di Traiano" in Rome, is an extensive complex of brick buildings dating back to Emperor Trajan's era, situated near the Trajan Forum. This multi-level structure housed shops, offices, and apartments, all arranged along a grand semicircular facade, serving both commercial and administrative purposes.

The Markets of Trajan today house the Museum of the Imperial Fora, part of Rome's civic museum network. The museum displays the ancient architecture and decorations of the Imperial Fora, featuring reconstructions using original fragments, casts, and modular stone. These are designed to restore their original three-dimensional form and showcase the splendor of imperial propaganda.

๐Ÿ”ธThe museum offers free admission every first Sunday of each month as part of the "Domenica al museo" initiative.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Did you know that it's possible to go horseback riding ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ along the beautiful Appian Way in Rome? This important historic road, known in Italian as Via Appia Antica, offers a picturesque route for horseback riding enthusiasts.

๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฟThe ancient Appian Way was built by the censor Appius Claudius Caecus in 312 B.C. who conceived it as a kind of ancient highway, consisting of long straight stretches to shorten travel times, as an alternative to the more inland Via Latina. Starting from Porta Capena in the area of Circo Massimo in Rome to Capua and Brindisi port later, it became the most important road for trade and travel throughout the Mediterranean.

The Appian Way was 530 km long, which a horseback traveler could typically cover in a couple of weeks or more. Incredible, isn't it?

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง When exploring the province of Grosseto in Tuscany, the archaeological park of Roselle is a must-visit destination, particularly for enthusiasts of history and archaeology.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ” Spanning across two hills, the Parco Archeologico di Roselle showcases the remnants of the ancient city of Roselle, standing as one of Italy's most captivating and significant archaeological sites. Originally known as "Rusellae," this Etruscan city thrived along the shores of the ancient Lake Prile, playing a vital role in fishing and trade with Etruscan cities inland.

In 294 BC, Rome took control, enhancing Roselle with spas, villas, and amphitheaters.

Today, this meticulously preserved site features beautiful mosaics, remains of ancient columns and statues, an ancient cistern, and an amphitheater.

๐Ÿ“It welcomes visitors every day, and access is free every first Sunday of the month.

A true hidden treasure that will leave you in awe of its beauty amidst the stunning Maremma panorama.โœจ
