Spring has arrived in Italy with an average temperature of 17 degrees Celsius, it’s already warm enough for outdoor activities. I recently went to Ostia to enjoy a walk on the beach with my boys. From Rome’s train stations Ostiense and EUR Magliana you can take a train to Ostia and enjoy some time out of the busy city center of Rome yourself☀️

2 years ago Rome was covered in snow, a moment that will be cherished in the hearts of the many Italians and tourists who experienced the magical layer of snow laying over the Eternal City.

It only snows once a couple of years in Rome, therefore it’s very rare to experience...❄️

These days it will be vacation time for me and my family. I love to receive people from all over the world at My Love Suite Rome, but it’s wonderful to now spend some time with my boys. We will explore Lisbon and experience the kindness of Portuguese people ourselves. I have heard some wonderful stories about this lovely town from my previous guest so I can’t wait to arrive and have some Pastéis de Belém 😍

This Sunday, the 23rd of February, entry to the Vatican Museums will be free to celebrate Raphael’s 500th anniversary of death. For the first time since 1983, all Raphael’s tapestries will return to the Sistine Chapel.
Take this opportunity to see both Michelangelo’s frescoed ceiling and Raphael’s tapestries (based on the lives of Saints Peter and Paul) in the Sistine Chapel. Sunday is the last day to see these unique pieces of art reunited in the same room. Don't miss it, it’s probably not happening again for a long time. •

How much I adore walking through Via Veneto, for me as a cinema expert this street has a really special meaning. 60 years ago, Via Veneto was used as a backdrop in the popular film “La Dolce Vita” which is until the day of today still in the top 10 of most watched movies by an Italian director. Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita was previewed on the night of February 2nd, 1960 at the Fiamma cinema in Rome.

During the ’50s and ’60s Via Veneto was known as Hollywood on the Tiber. Many celebrities visited Café Doney for a coffee during their stay in Rome, the café is still open and gets lots of visitors from all over the world.

Although the Fiamma cinema closed in 2017, Fellini’s legacy will continue to grow in the hearts of cinema lovers, who until of the day of today, still visit the popular via Veneto.
