Project of the month | Sanctuary Retreats Kichakani🌱

Ilboru School in Arusha, Tanzania, is pioneering the education of children with hearing impairments and physical and mental disabilities. Established over a decade ago through Sanctuary Retreats Philanthropy, it was the first school of its kind in the region. It was later expanded with a secondary school in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, which provides specialized teachers. In addition to academic courses, it offers vocational skills such as sewing, preparing students for the job market. This school represents a model of excellence in inclusive education in Tanzania.

Project of the month | I Borghi dell'Eremo 🌱

Borghi dell'Eremo, located in Umbria, was structured with a focus on optimizing the use of water and energy resources through home automation. Advanced software monitors weather forecasts, wind and soil moisture to irrigate only when needed, cutting off the flow if the wind is too strong. Outdoor lighting and charging stations use energy from more than 200 photovoltaic panels, while water is heated by a biomass boiler that uses olive tree pruning and undergrowth, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

Borghi dell'Eremo, situato in Umbria, è stato strutturato con l'obiettivo di ottimizzare l'uso delle risorse idriche ed energetiche attraverso la domotica. Un software avanzato monitora le previsioni meteo, il vento e l'umidità del terreno per irrigare solo quando necessario, interrompendo il flusso se il vento è troppo forte. L'illuminazione esterna e le stazioni di ricarica utilizzano l'energia di oltre 200 pannelli fotovoltaici, mentre l'acqua viene riscaldata da una caldaia a biomassa che utilizza le potature degli ulivi e il sottobosco, garantendo efficienza e sostenibilità.
