What are your thoughts on the proposed โ‚ฌ2 entry fee and 30-minute time slot for tourists at the TREVI FOUNTAIN?

Would you pay for access, even if it requires booking in advance and dealing with lines? OR would you prefer to view the fountain for FREE from the sides without the hassles of securing time slot tickets and waiting in lines?

While the goal is to reduce overcrowding and preserve the site, a similar โ‚ฌ5 fee at the Pantheon led to long lines and uncertainty, complicating visits for those on time-restricted tours from places like Civitavecchia.

Who would have thought one of Rome's most luxurious streets, "Via del Babuino, is named after an "ugly" statue? ๐Ÿ˜„

Il Babuino, or "The Baboon," is actually part of Rome's quirky collection of "talking statues" โ€“ a group of sculptures that have historically been used by locals to post satirical notes and comment on politics or society. The statue itself, installed in the 16th century, represents a reclining Silenus, a follower of the wine god Bacchus. However, due to its misshapen and rugged appearance, locals nicknamed it Il Babuino, as they thought it resembled a baboon more than a classical figure.

Over time, the name stuck, and today, Via del Babuino, one of Romeโ€™s most high-end shopping streets, owes its title to this peculiar statue. Itโ€™s a perfect blend of Rome's humor, history, and elegance!

If you're strolling through Rome and looking for a hidden gem with an 'old world" feel, don't miss Via dei Coronari!

Did you know that Via dei Coronari got its name from the "coronari," the sellers of rosary beads and religious items who once lined this street to cater to the many pilgrims heading to St. Peterโ€™s Basilica? Today, it retains that historic charm and is the perfect spot to explore antique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafes.

Take a leisurely walk down Via dei Coronari and soak in the history, beauty, and unique atmosphere that makes Rome so special. Whether you're hunting for a vintage or antique treasure, browsing the charming boutiques, or simply enjoying a relaxing passeggiata, this street should not be missed!

If youโ€™re drawn to the mysteries of the past, come explore the land where history and legend intertwine: Ancient Etruria!

Our signature Mysterious Etruscans Countryside Tour takes you into the heart of the Roman countryside once known as Etruriaโ€”the land of the Etruscans - a civilization older than Rome itself!

โœจ Mysterious Etruscans Countryside Tour

Imagine descending into the painted tombs of Tarquinia's Monterozzi Necropolis, where vivid frescoes have survived thousands of years, depicting scenes of life, death, and the unknown. As you step into these underground chambers, you'll feel the weight of history around youโ€”it's as if the Etruscans themselves are whispering their secrets.

Then, we'll journey to the enchanting medieval town of Tuscania, perched on a hill with breathtaking views over the valley. Wander through its narrow streets, discover ancient churches built on the ruins of Etruscan temples, and feel the timeless spirit of this place that inspired poets and explorers alike.

This isn't just a tourโ€”it's a voyage into the unknown, an exploration of a culture that left behind more questions than answers. Who were the Etruscans? What stories do their tombs tell? What secrets lie hidden in the shadows of their forgotten cities?

Did you know that the Theater of Marcellus (Teatro di Marcello) in Rome, predates the Colosseum?

The Theater of Marcellus was commissioned by Julius Caesar and completed by Emperor Augustus in 13 BC. It was named in honor of Augustusโ€™s nephew, Marcellus, who was considered a potential heir before his untimely death. This theater was one of the largest in ancient Rome, capable of seating around 15,000 spectators, who enjoyed plays, musical performances, and various other spectacles.

Located near the Jewish Ghetto, the Theater of Marcellus is a peaceful spot to visit. While you're there, you can also explore the nearby Portico of Octavia and the charming narrow streets of the Jewish Ghetto.
