View from Bigallo...convent-turned-hostel where we had Italian cooking experience. Italy’s allure...leaves a reminiscing attraction to return.
Whipping up ravioli from scratch with the help of these amazing Italian chefs. Class was in old convent in beautiful hillside of Bigallo just outside of Florence. It is now a functioning hostel. Beautiful! Next post shows view. And this group of people are amazing!
Tip for Rome Temple travel plans...brings lots of extra cash for crepes and gelatos! Venchi is best so far. Via del Corso 335, Roma.
Gondola ride in Venice! It is magical here.
We hit Venice at high tide so streets, stores, churches flooded...unique experience.
Did not get the name of this restaurant In Pisa, but Jill ordered 50 sandwiches and confirmed the order with staff. We arrived and they did not know about the order! They jumped right in and got 50 delicious fire roasted panini ready!
So much happens every day. One more video...stumbling upon a bassist in a piazza by the Pantheon. Exquisite...
Travel tips for Rome Temple Open House:
Bring a scarf...common fashion for men and women and very handy to help stay warm while walking around to all the jaw-dropping sites!
Bring an umbrella (but plenty of street vendors sell them here).
Bring good walking shoes that can withstand getting wet.
Bring layers...can get too hot/too cold
Bring backpack for layers and snacks.
Eat somewhere new every day!
Carry on should have a couple of days of critical items (someone in our group had lost baggage for a couple of days and only had flip flops to wear for an entire day of walking tours).
Pack light! Get laundry detergent for travel and wash clothes in sink. We brought 2 carry ons each (one for overhead and one for under seat), best decision! Others in our group have carry on plus 2 large pieces of luggage (big no no). Pack light!
Get hotel with breakfast included (best western universo has a fantastic buffet...110 euro per night (price May vary as is common for Italy).
Enjoy every single minute! Here is a quick clip that demos Italians’ personalities and love of food:
