Tornano le passeggiate serali nell’Area Archeologica dei Fori Imperiali.
Il percorso inizia dal museo multimediale sotto Palazzo Valentini, dove vi attende la proiezione di un filmato, a cura di Piero Angela e Paco Lanciano, con la ricostruzione virtuale della Colonna Traiana. Il video, della durata circa 13 minuti, racconta le gesta dell’imperatore Traiano al momento della conquista della Dacia, l’attuale Romania, ed è un’occasione unica per vedere da vicino i bassorilievi e la campagna militare rappresentata. Un racconto che si conclude con la morte del re Decebalo e il trionfo dell’imperatore.
Tutte le sere dalle 18.30 alle 21.50.

The evening walks in the archaeological area of the Imperial Fora are back.
The tour starts from the multimedia museum under Palazzo Valentini, where you can watch a film curated by Piero Angela and Paco Lanciano, with the virtual reconstruction of the Trajan's Column.
Every evening from 18.30 to 21.50, the time of the last entry, we await you for an evening walk in one of the most evocative archaeological areas of Rome.

Un amorino cavalca un delfino nella scena centrale di questo mosaico; al di sotto due delfini contrapposti nuotano in un mare segnato da brevi linee orizzontali rese con tessere nere.
Al di sopra dell'amorino invece sono raffigurati due tondi all'interno dei quali appaiono due volti, personificazioni di due stagioni, probabilmente l'inverno e l'estate.

L'iscrizione, per quanto lacunosa, è stata interpretata come NAVICULARI MVSVLVITANI HIC, laddove Naviculari sta per armatori di navi, mentre l'altra parola parrebbe indicare il porto di Musluvium, città della Mauretania Caesarensis, oggi Sidi Rehane, in Algeria.

Throughout the past centuries the Piazza Navona was a sort of stadium used for knight games, a market square and, as a venue for carnival. In 1488 the square was paved. Three fountains were built to supply water for various animals using the local aqueduct “Aqua Virgo”.

The Trevi Fountain is one of the oldest water sources in Rome. The fountain dates back to ancient Roman times, since the construction of the Aqua Virgo or Virgin Waters Aqueduct in 19 B.C. The fountain is mostly built from travertine stone, a mineral made of calcium carbonate formed from spring waters.

If you didn’t know that Rome had a pyramid, now you know. The Pyramid of Cestius is one of the best preserved ancient buildings but never been promoted as a big tourist attraction. Locally known as the railway station. No doubt it would be a top visitor spot elsewhere.

Equipped with all amenities and facilities, also for infants. Location ideal to combine Rome with Ostia's home relax and beach breaks away from the bustling city.

The space A large bedroom with double bed for 2 guests. Comfortable double sofa bed for 2 more guests in the living room. We have also an extra camp bed for one child, a baby cot for infants and feeding chair. A new kitchenette fitted with all the amenities you need, utensils, microwave, toaster and kettle. From the living room you can access to the outdoor patio garden equipped with tables, chairs and parasol, ideal to dine outside and relax under the lemon tree.

Guest access Free WI-FI, LCD Sat TV, DVD, air conditioning, bed linen, towels, beach towels, kitchen utensils, washing machine, iron, hair dryer etc. Complimentary welcome drinks, tea and coffee.

Interaction with guests Stefano is your main point of contact in English and Spanish via phone and email. Roberto will be looking after you with everything you need on site, he will give you the keys and show you around. Tourist maps and local information are available inside the Lodge. At check out you can leave the keys inside and close the door.

Other things to note Rome City Tax is payable at check-in - rate is 3.50€ per person, per day - Not applicable for children below 10 years.

Getting Around Ostia Lodge lies in a quiet area and is only 10 mins walk to Ostia Antica's main attractions. Around you can find coffee shops, restaurants and take away food shops. The supermarket is also only 10 mins walk. More shops, bars and eateries all located around or inside the picturesque Medieval town. Car parking is available just outside the Lodge on public road.

The strategic location allows visitors to easily reach the metro railway station (15 min. walk) and be in Rome City Centre in half an hour at a cost of €1.50 per person (one way). We have plenty of tourist information and brochures, local maps with all transport and services available. You cannot miss a visit the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica, a site comparable to Pompeii. It is one of the largest archeological sites of Ancient Rome. Ostia is a great spot for families and kids, sunbathe and relax on sandy beaches, enjoy Zoomarine water park, trekking & horse walking in Castelfusano pinewood forest. Enjoy your evenings out and about with great food.

FROM AIRPORTS TO OSTIA ANTICA: A taxi is the quickest way to Ostia Antica and cost around €30 daytime from FCO Fiumicino and €55 from CIA Ciampino– Always agree fare before taking a taxi. There is no direct Bus or Train from FCO Airport / CIA Airport to Ostia Antica.

ROME TO OSTIA ANTICA: The best way to get to Ostia Antica is by Metro train. Trains depart every 30 minutes from Piramide railway station. Get off at Ostia Antica' station, use the blue footbridge to cross the road and walk down to the village.
