Last weekend, we had the joy of attending the animal blessing ceremony in Vecchiano, a beautiful tradition in honor of St. Anthony’s Day. Known as the patron saint of animals, St. Anthony is celebrated for his deep connection to all living creatures.

It was heartwarming to see the community come together, bringing their beloved pets for this special blessing. Dogs, and even some more unique companions joined the event, all receiving a beautiful gesture of care and protection. 🐶🐴

Looking back, 2024 wasn’t packed with travels, but it brought two unforgettable trips:
✈️ My dream trip to NYC – a bucket list destination that inspired us in so many ways.
🇭🇺 A month in Hungary – reconnecting with family and creating cherished memories.

Closer to home, we explored more of beautiful Tuscany, continuing our journey to find the perfect place to call home. 🏡

Now, as we step into 2025, we’re planning new family trips, continuing the house-hunting journey, and preparing fresh travel content to share with you all! 🌍

The holiday season is here, and we’re diving headfirst into the festivities! We've been getting into the Christmas spirit by watching Morgan Logan's Vlogmas (always so inspiring!) and visiting magical Christmas markets, including the charming stalls in Forte dei Marmi—absolutely breathtaking!

The decorations are going up at home, turning the house into a cosy winter wonderland. And of course, we’re busy planning the ultimate festive menu filled with all our seasonal favorites. 🥂🍽️

Saint Nicholas, known as the patron saint of children, sailors, and the poor, is a figure of generosity and kindness. While not all areas in Italy observe this day with specific traditions, it often marks the beginning of the Christmas season for many families.

In the spirit of the season, Babo Natale (Father Christmas) takes centre stage as the Italian equivalent of Santa Claus. Throughout December, children write letters to Babo Natale, sharing their wishes and promising good behaviour. The anticipation builds as towns and villages prepare for festive activities, markets, and the magical arrival of Babo Natale himself.

Hello Everyone! 🌟

We’re back after a little break and couldn’t wait to share what’s been happening in our world. Life took us offline for a while as we shifted focus to what truly matters—quality time with family, special moments with loved ones, and some incredible adventures. 🌍💛

October was an absolute whirlwind, packed with memories we’ll treasure forever. We celebrated Joanna’s birthday 🎉🎂 with a heartfelt Tuscan escape, soaking in the timeless charm of Val d’Orcia. One of the highlights was our stay in a cosy, rustic Tuscan house, complete with a fireplace that became the heart of our evenings. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a glass of local wine by the fire after a day of exploring! 🍷🔥

Among our favourite stops was San Giovanni d’Asso, a small gem tucked away in the Tuscan hills, famous for its white truffles and breathtaking scenery. We also wandered through the enchanting Bosco di Ragnaia, an artistic woodland that blends nature and sculpture in such a magical way—it’s a must-visit for anyone seeking a touch of serenity and wonder. 🌳✨

Of course, we couldn’t resist a few trips to Lucca, where we kept returning to our beloved Caffè Santa Zita. Their warm hospitality and perfect cappuccinos made each visit feel like a little slice of heaven. ☕💕

Ciao everyone! It's been a while since we last posted, but we've been taking some time off from the online world to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of Hungary. We're staying in a charming town surrounded by lush greenery, a big forest, refreshing swimming pools, scenic biking lanes, and endless exploring places. Our days here start with a rejuvenating forest bath and a stop at a local bakery - our favourite pastries are kakaós csiga, the chocolate rolls. Then there is time for relaxation and visiting, a delicious lunch, and afternoons spent by the pools. July was a month of discovery, relaxation, and beautiful experiences as we journeyed through the enchanting regions of Tuscany and Campania. Our travels took us to the historic city of Lucca, the picturesque Garfagnana region, the charming village of Sant'Andrea di Compito, and the idyllic island of Procida.

During our stay in Procida, I found time to read "Dolce Vita Diaries," by Cathy Rogers; a delightful and heartfelt memoir that takes you on an enchanting journey through the Italian countryside. The book chronicles Rogers' adventures as she and her partner leave behind their hectic London lives to start a new chapter in Italy, embracing the idyllic yet challenging rural lifestyle.

Just returned from an incredible adventure exploring some of Tuscany's hidden gems! Our trip began with a fascinating tour of Grotta del Vento, where we marvelled at the stunning underground formations and learned about the cave's rich history. Next, we visited the serene Eremo di Colomiti, a tranquil hermitage nestled in the mountains, offering breathtaking views and a sense of peace that's hard to find anywhere else.

After a morning of exploration, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a local farmhouse nearby.

On our way back, we couldn't resist stopping at the famous Devil's Bridge in Borgo a Mozzano. The bridge, with its unique architecture and intriguing legends, was the perfect end to our day of adventures. Tuscany never ceases to amaze with its blend of natural beauty, history, and culinary delights! 🌄🍝🌉
