July was a month of discovery, relaxation, and beautiful experiences as we journeyed through the enchanting regions of Tuscany and Campania. Our travels took us to the historic city of Lucca, the picturesque Garfagnana region, the charming village of Sant'Andrea di Compito, and the idyllic island of Procida.

During our stay in Procida, I found time to read "Dolce Vita Diaries," by Cathy Rogers; a delightful and heartfelt memoir that takes you on an enchanting journey through the Italian countryside. The book chronicles Rogers' adventures as she and her partner leave behind their hectic London lives to start a new chapter in Italy, embracing the idyllic yet challenging rural lifestyle.

Ciao amici!
Did you know that Jeans, the iconic staple of casual fashion, have roots that trace back to the bustling port city of Genoa, Italy?

In the 16th century, sailors from Genoa wore durable, practical pants made from a sturdy fabric called "genes." This material, ideal for the rough maritime environment, was eventually embraced by French weavers who replicated it, calling it "denim," from "de Nîmes," indicating its origin from Nîmes, France. The modern blue jeans we know today were revolutionized by Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis in the 19th century with the addition of rivets for extra durability. From Genoa's docks to global fashion runways, jeans have transcended their humble beginnings to become a timeless and versatile wardrobe essential.

Just returned from an incredible adventure exploring some of Tuscany's hidden gems! Our trip began with a fascinating tour of Grotta del Vento, where we marvelled at the stunning underground formations and learned about the cave's rich history. Next, we visited the serene Eremo di Colomiti, a tranquil hermitage nestled in the mountains, offering breathtaking views and a sense of peace that's hard to find anywhere else.

After a morning of exploration, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a local farmhouse nearby.

On our way back, we couldn't resist stopping at the famous Devil's Bridge in Borgo a Mozzano. The bridge, with its unique architecture and intriguing legends, was the perfect end to our day of adventures. Tuscany never ceases to amaze with its blend of natural beauty, history, and culinary delights! 🌄🍝🌉

When it comes to enjoying a hearty and delicious pasta meal, the brand choice can make all the difference. We've tried and tested numerous pasta brands, and three have consistently stood out for their quality, taste, and authenticity: Garofalo, De Cecco, and La Molisana. Here's why these brands are our top picks:

Garofalo has been a staple in the pasta world since 1789, originating from Gragnano, Italy. Known for its premium quality and rich history, Garofalo uses only the finest durum wheat semolina, ensuring a robust texture that holds sauces beautifully.

De Cecco has been producing pasta since 1886, and their dedication to quality is evident in every bite. With a commitment to traditional methods and innovation, De Cecco has become a household name worldwide.

La Molisana, established in 1912, combines a century-old tradition with modern techniques to produce some of the finest pasta. Located in the heart of Molise, Italy, this brand takes pride in its deep-rooted heritage and commitment to quality.

Every June 16th, the city of Pisa in Italy lights up in celebration of St. Ranieri Day, honouring its patron saint, Ranieri Scacceri. The highlight of this festive occasion is the spectacular "Luminara di San Ranieri," an event that transforms Pisa into a glowing wonderland.

As night falls, over 70,000 candles are meticulously placed along the Arno River, illuminating the city's historic buildings. This enchanting display, reflecting beautifully on the river's surface, creates a magical ambiance that captivates both locals and visitors.

We recently had the pleasure of flying with ITA Airways on a journey from Florence to Rome, and then to New York. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.

The short hop to Rome was delightful. The aircraft was modern and clean, with comfortable seating. The long-haul flight to New York was where ITA Airways truly shone. The cabin crew were professional and attentive, ensuring every need was met efficiently and warmly. The in-flight entertainment system had a broad selection of movies and TV shows. Arrival at JFK was smooth, with efficient disembarkation.

Overall, my experience with ITA Airways was outstanding. Their commitment to customer satisfaction, comfort, and quality service was evident at every stage of the journey. We highly recommend flying with ITA Airways for anyone looking for a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

Hello in June! We were away for some time but are back in Italy now.

We had an amazing trip to New York, visiting, eating and soaking in the city life.

It all felt like a big movie set, and we loved it.

While in the Big Apple, we recommend visiting the Top of The Rock, Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo, Central Park and Greenwich Village. Try pizza New York style, Matcha from Cha Cha Matcha and Ramen at Ivan Ramen. Bagels are also a must, we tried them at Kossar's.

We are just back from a short business trip to Milan. And yet again, the city surprised us positively. Milan is modern, clean and chic.

The sleek lines of contemporary skyscrapers create a skyline that tells a story of evolution and innovation.

Moreover, the city is increasingly committed to green living. The transformation of urban spaces into verdant retreats is evident and creates a harmonious blend of nature and modernity.

One of the standout examples of this green revolution is the Bosco Verticale, or Vertical Forest. These twin residential towers are adorned with over 900 trees, 5,000 shrubs, and 11,000 perennial plants. This innovative design not only provides stunning views and a natural aesthetic but also improves air quality and contributes to biodiversity in the urban environment.

Milan's embrace of green spaces and plant-adorned buildings is a forward-thinking approach to urban living. By integrating nature into the city's fabric, Milan is creating a healthier, more sustainable environment that benefits both people and the planet.

We recently had the pleasure of organising a delightful 4-day trip for a lovely English couple, exploring the enchanting towns of Pisa, Lucca, and Florence. The itinerary was meticulously crafted to ensure they experienced the best of both worlds: the iconic landmarks and the hidden gems.

Day one began in Pisa, where they marvelled at the grandeur of the Leaning Tower and the captivating Piazza dei Miracoli. From there, they ventured into the lesser-popular corners of the city, discovering charming local markets and quaint cafés.

In Lucca, they walked around the ancient city walls, immersed in the rich history and stunning architecture. I guided them to the quieter, picturesque streets, where they could enjoy a peaceful stroll and savour the authentic Tuscan atmosphere. They also visited a charming village near Lucca, where they enjoyed lunch at a typical trattoria.

Florence was the grand finale, with visits to the majestic Duomo, Oltrarno neighbourhood, and the vibrant Ponte Vecchio.

We hope this trip was filled with unforgettable moments, delicious food, and stunning views. We look forward to seeing you again in Tuscany!

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, longing for a moment of peace and connection? One powerful method to reconnect with yourself and the earth is through grounding, a practice that involves immersing yourself in nature to restore balance and well-being. And what better place to experience this than amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Italy?

One of the simplest ways to connect with the earth is by walking barefoot or simply lying down on natural surfaces such as grass, rock, stone, or sand. Another method is to take a dip in natural water bodies such as rivers, lakes, or seas (but not artificially built pools).

Kick off your shoes and feel the earth beneath your feet. Whether exploring ancient ruins, wandering through olive groves, or walking along sandy beaches, allow yourself to connect with the ground beneath you. The sensation of soil, sand, or grass against your skin can be incredibly grounding, helping to reduce stress and promote a sense of calm.
