Hi everybody,
this is Antonio Alfani. As you might know, I have written a cook book with the story of my family for more then 200 years. All the pictures of the dishes are taken by partner Eugene in our beautiful garden.
The second edition of the book in English is now available. Whoever is interested in a copy, please remember that a generous percentage of the price will go to research and help for children affected by Neuroblastoma. For any questions and/or to purchase the book please contact me at :[email protected]

“An amazing day with wonderful hosts!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed January 1, 2014 NEW
We had the pleasure of meeting Eugene in Florence for a tour of the market, followed by a cooking class with his partner Antonio.

The two were the most gracious hosts in their home, where the cooking class took place. The class was relaxed, informal, and very educational. The two ensured that we were comfortable, well, fed, and provided wonderful wine from local vineyards. The recipes were authentic Italian recipes from Antonio's family.

We spent the entire afternoon and evening deep in conversation over the dinner we made (brown butter chicken, pasta with a squash blossom puree, and heavenly hazelnut chocolate cake) and Antonio and Eugene were one of the most interesting duos we have ever encountered. We were so sad to leave at the end of our evening!

What a tragedy that Eugene has passed away. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Antonio plans to continue classes and selling the cookbook that he and Eugene had published. He will also be teaching classes in New York at some point. Do not overlook this opportunity to meet a great chef, instructor, and an unforgettable way to spend an afternoon.

Ciao to everybody! This is Antonio, the lucky partner of Eugene for 33 years. I Know how many people loved him , it makes my heart happy but also sad because he can not be here to enjoy your friendship and love. All of our projects will continue in Eugene's memory. One of the plans we had was going to New York to give Italian cooking classes and Italian wine tasting. The plan is to be there between April and June 2014 offering cooking classes with a full meal and wine tasting. Before I come to NYC, I would like to know if anyone out there is interested in taking classes and if you are available to spread the word. I am planning this right now so any help is appreciated. Please take your time to investigate and let me know how many people would be interested. You can contact me here on facebook (Eugene's) or call me at + 39 340 69 00 296. I am looking forward to hear from you. Warm regards Antonio

Florence and the Arno – November 4, 1966

Early on the morning of November 4, 1966, after days on end of driving, pounding rain, the Arno River spilled over its banks in the city of Florence. Despite the stormy weather that had been pounding the region, people went about their usual business, unaware of what nature was about to unleash on t

Perché Firenze rende omaggio ad Albert Camus

Albert Camus in Florence
