The intercultural project “Circolando” aims to create a space of exchange and mutual understanding among young people of different cultures, with a spirit of openness to dialogue, using “circus” as main tool. The participants, 20 young boys and girls, coming from Sardinia and from Palestine, will be involved in workshops of circus art, which will generate sharing of experiences, new skills and go
od practices. The youth exchange will take place in Sardinia, in the Municipality of Serrenti, a little town near Cagliari. The project foreseen 9 days of activities that consists of: reception of the groups, workshops of circus arts, mutual acquaintance through intercultural workshops and visit of the hosting territory. During the event the participants will be asked to be totally active: their engagement in the activities will allow them to reflect how their behaviors can influence their own future. The young participants of the project will learn new circus performances in order to realize a small final show. This per will represent the end of the youth exchange and will be the occasion for the boys and girls to practice what they learnt and to show it to the community of Serrenti, raising awareness on the experience of the youth exchange. The project is granted by the European Commission and the Italian Youth Agency within the Program Youth in Action, Action 3.1. The promoters of the Youth Exchange are the Sardinian Association Genti de Mesu and the Palestinian Association Assirk Assaghir Nablus Circus School, with the cooperation of Association “Educazione e Liberta A.E.L." (Education and Freedom), and the Comitato Giovani di Serrenti (Youth Committee of Serrenti). The project is supported by Municipality of Cagliari and Provincia of Cagliari.
