It’s Struffoli time! 🌟🎄
Struffoli is an authentic and surprising Italian dessert dish of small balls of fried dough covered with honey and a generous topping of sprinkles, sugar pearls and even candied fruit and served during the Christmas period in the Campania region. 🧁
The origins of this cake are Greek or Middle Eastern; their name refers to the gesture of rubbing the dough before cutting. In Naples of old, Struffoli were prepared by the nuns for families who had particularly distinguished themselves in charitable works. 🏛
