La Domus dei Dioscuri è una delle abitazioni più vaste e meglio decorate della città di Pompei e deve il suo nome ad un affresco collocato all'ingresso, raffigurante i Dioscuri Castore e Polluce, oggi conservato al museo archeologico nazionale di Napoli. La rappresentazione dei Dioscuri, stanti con clamide e cavallo, costituisce un esplicito riferimento all’ordine equestre cui apparteneva, grazie alla sua enorme disponibilità finanziaria, il proprietario della domus, esponente dell’élite municipale.

La Villa dei Dioscuri (VI 9, 6-9) è ubicata nel quartiere residenziale prediletto dall’aristocrazia sannitica grazie alla sua vicinanza al foro. Essa è un insieme di tre abitazioni, unite tra loro durante l'età augustea, che venne sepolta dall'eruzione del 79 del Vesuvio, finchè non venne scoperta e esplorata tra il 1828 ed il 1829.

Questo è uno dei rari esempi a Pompei di una casa con un atrio corinzio, circondato da dodici colonne in tufo coperte di stucco.

Pompei tour : casa degli Amanti

Portata alla luce nel 1933, prende il nome dal verso inciso in un quadretto con anatre sul fondo del peristilio che recita Amantes, ut apes, vitam melitam exigunt (Gli amanti conducono, come le api, una vita dolce come il miele).

La particolarità più rilevante dell’abitazione consiste nella presenza e nella conservazione pressoché completa del secondo piano del peristilio (giardino colonnato)
