Emotions and feelings recollected in tranquility! 📷04/07/2024

Here are some amazing shots from the event we were lucky to witness during a guide’s survey!

It marked the start of an effusive eruption, leading to the collapse of the NE crater and triggering debris avalanches down the Sciara del Fuoco. The contact of lava with water caused a phreatomagmatic explosion, creating a plume where electrical discharges were visible. We were absolutely awestruck to experience this breathtaking moment firsthand! 🌋⚡️🤩

L'attività vulcanica di Panarea è ancora presente tutt'oggi attraverso un'attività fumarolica sottomarina. Queste emissioni di gas nel mare di Panarea è conosciuta dall'epoca greco-romana, dopo un lungo periodo di stasi, nell'autunno 2002 si sono riattivate.
