Pelin has a passion for art and a passion for Ortigia. I loved getting to spend time with her and learning through her eyes. The tour was so much more than we expected and we have done artisian tours in other cities. It was wonderful to meet the artists and learn about their work. I have since followed Pelin social media and her drive to preserve these arts that could be lost with future generations and educate is inspiring. We toured with our thirteen year old daughter who really enjoyed and appreciated the pieces we got to see and enjoyed speaking with Pelin also.

Ortigia Moments~

Everyday life in Ortigia feels like walking through a dream, where even buying fruit becomes a cinematic experience. The way the light falls, the vibrant colors, the people, and the historical backdrop all contribute to a beautiful narrative.

This morning, as I made my way to pick up some fruit, I noticed a Liberty-style building with an elegant window overlooking the Temple of Apollo, which was worshipped in the 6th century BC. At that moment, buying fruit felt like a celebration.

It's never too late to embrace a slower pace of life, to trust the details around you, and to value time over a clock.

Living here is like being inside a painting, where history and beauty blend seamlessly. The delicate charm of a handmade linen curtain contrasts beautifully with the weight of a 6th-century BC temple—it's pure poetry.

Sicilya: tanrıların ve kahramanların evi

Arkaik Yunan dünyasında Sicilya ve Aeolian Adaları Mit dünyasına aitti. İlk Yunanlılar için burası tanrıların ve kahramanların yaşadığı, dünyevi ama bir şekilde uhrevi bir yerdi.

2040 yılına kadar yedi gezegenin aynı anda bu kadar iyi görülebileceği son kez olan bu akşam, ‘gezegensel geçit töreni’ olarak bilinen fenomenin yarattığı hisler benim için Tanrıların kahramanlarla sohbeti gibiydi , sizlerle de paylaşmak istedim bu zanaatkar geceyi 🌙

“Pelin’s tour was amazing and Pelin herself was such a delight. I felt like I was visiting a dear friend’s neighborhood where she showed me all her favorite places and introduced me to her friends. There is so much creativity going on in Ortigia, but it really helps that Pelin knows where the workshops and artisans are. The artisans themselves were so welcoming, happy and proud to explain their work. Pelin also answered all our questions about Ortigia and recommended favorite places to eat and hang out. These kinds of experiences are the best part of traveling. Book this tour, you will have a lovely time! Pelin is a gem!”

Herşey bu adada başladı, bundan beş sene önce adanın zanaatkarları ile sohbetlerimi kaydedip onların hikayelerini yazıyordum ve de Hollanda’daki arkadaşım .pro ile paylaşıyordum, ikinci fotoğrafta 2020 senesinin Temmuz ayında Amsterdam’da buluştuğumuzda için biraz daha derin sohbet etmiştik ve de tabii profesyonel bakış açısı ile bana bu yola çıkmama destek olmuştu sonra adaya döndüğümde beni ile tanıştırdı ve de bu yolda gidersem beni çok güzel şeylerin beklediğini söylemişti, fotoğraf ve video çekimlerini yapmıştık. Ve de sayfamı 21 Ocak 2021 de açmıştım yani bundan tam 4 sene önce, ilk yaz sadece bir kişi turuma katılmıştı 🫠 konuya daha hakim olmak için da master eğitimi almak istedim Sanat ve Kültür yönetimi üzerine, ve de hep yaşadığım yere sahip olduğu değeri vermek, elleri ile yaratan, güzelleştiren zanaatçı ve sanatçıları ön plana çıkarmak için hiç yılmadım, bir başka kültür bambaşka bir dil ama sanki tek bir başlangıç noktası var ve bizler hepimiz o noktayız. Bu tür maskelerin bina kapı üstlerini ve balkonları süslemek için kullanılması antik kültüre aittir. Eski çağlardaki insanlar, kapı ve pencerelerin kötülüğün girişine veya geçişine karşı özellikle savunmasız olduğuna inanıyorlardı. Sicilya barok mimarisinin en dikkat çekici özelliklerinden birisi tabii ki Sicilyalı sanatçılarıa da tarih boyunca esin kaynağı olmuş çalışırken .ad.ortigia kamerası ile bu özel anları için sonsuzlaştırdı.
