📍Ortigia, Sicily, The Ancient Castle – Castello Maniace - deserves your special attention!

Similar to the castles in Bari, Trani, Barletta, Brindisi, Augusta, and Catania, Castello Maniace stands on the coast, overlooking the sea on one side and the city on the other. Positioned at the far end of Ortigia, at the entrance of Porto Grande, it occupies a highly strategic position where military outposts have been established over the city's extensive history.

The name Castello Maniace originates from George Maniakes, a Byzantine general who briefly seized the city from the Arabs in 1038.

The fortress has witnessed several significant events, including the signing of a contract for the University of Naples construction and the hosting of the Aragon family in 1288, during which Peter II of Aragon was crowned.

The construction of Frederick II's castle took place from 1232 to 1240.

During almost the entire 15th century, the castle served as a prison.

The castle was handed over to the Kingdom of Savoy and served as a storage facility for military equipment until the Second World War.

Make sure to include a visit to this fortress in your itinerary to experience the spirit and history of numerous tales, as it has always been the most significant one, capturing the essence of the ancient city!📌

🥩 Bistecca alla fiorentina

Fiorentina is unquestionably the queen of Tuscan gastronomy! To make a great Florentine steak, it is crucial to focus on two key aspects: selecting a top-quality piece of meat and cooking it rare...The Florentine steak is cooked on the grill over a flameless ember, it should not be pierced with a fork and should be turned once, salting the cooked part first on one side then on the other.

📍Cinque Terre: The five lands of the Italian Riviera

Situated on the western coast of Italy in the Liguria region, the Cinque Terre National Park, which translates to "five lands," comprises five charming towns nestled amidst the rugged mountain terrain. In 1997, this picturesque area was granted UNESCO Cultural Heritage recognition.

The majority of the structures in Cinque Terre were constructed during the Middle Ages, with some dating back to the Roman Empire. The towns that currently form part of the park were established in the 11th century. Even though the residents of Cinque Terre enjoy modern conveniences, their towns have remained largely unchanged for centuries: most areas of the park are free from cars, and fishing boats continue to float in the sea.

Visit amazing 5 Terre:

✅ La Spezia

✅ Riomaggiore

✅ Manarola

✅ Vernazze

Review from our beautiful guests in Taormina 🥰

"Hello, I wanted to send a note to say thank you for the beautiful family photos you took of our family last month in Taormina.

We have had several family photos done in the last ten years and haven’t loved any of them as much as the ones you captured. Somehow you really captured the love that our family shares in a really gorgeous way. Even the photos that my daughter’s look silly or grumpy; I love those too! I’ve never felt more beautiful in family photos. Additionally you captured my husband so handsomely, you made him look young! These photos will be so special for all of us to look back on forever. I plan to display many of them around our home.

You are a true artist and I hope many people can have the gift of having you create beautiful photos of them. Best of all wishes

Hannah and David Lofts"

📍Castello Solacium and Cantina Pupillo in Sicily - an architectural wonder shrouded in legends of the past.

Every corner of the Castello Solacium, from its imposing turrets to secret passages, beckons with the charm of a forgotten era that begins back in the XII century.

Originating from the time of Frederick II, this magnificent castle has a history that dates back to 1240 when the ruler authorized a plan to build a reservoir.

The Pupillo Farm, founded in 1908, occupies a large part of the land which once constituted the fief of Targia, famous for the medieval Solacium castle and for the fertile soils which give a unique taste and scent to a variety of products: wines, olive oil, fruits and vegetables.

In the late 80s, Nino Pupillo, the grandson of the founder, decided to plant the first Moscato di Syracuse vineyard in order to avoid the disappearance of this grape variety, which was almost forgotten. As we wander through the sun-drenched vineyards, our journey takes us to the Cantina Pupillo, a winery that embodies the essence of Sicilian viticulture.

For many generations, the family of the Pupillo barons, who have owned the territory for many years, have honed their skills by growing grapes under the Mediterranean sun and turning them into nectar elixirs that convey the essence of this land. The rows of vineyards swing harmoniously, whispering stories about hard work, passion and mastery of winemaking.

✅ If you want to completely experience this incredible ambiance, consider staying in one of the rooms within the castle grounds. Currently, there are multiple charming rooms available for accommodation on-site. You are also welcome to reserve a morning tasting session to savor the wine and wander through the vineyards.
On the castle grounds you will also find a stunning garden - the oldest and most charming area of the estate.

The past may be enigmatic, but its echoes resonate eternal in the walls of these timeless bastions... ❤️

📍Calabria region, Pollino Park - one of the most "green" and untouched, unexplored corners of Italy by tourists. I'm curious, how familiar are you with the renowned towns of Italy and which ones have caught your attention?
☺️ Share your thoughts, it's fascinating to hear what comes to your mind first. And what do you know about Morano Calabro?
❤️ Just around the corner, an amazing town awaits you!

The history of Morano Calabro originates in the Magno–Greek era, which translates as "Great Greece", in the 7th century BC.

The core of the city is a Norman castle located between the mountains and the sky, preserving the atmosphere of that ancient city. The castle, which for centuries protected access to Calabria.

Already from afar, approaching the city, you will see a dome and a bell tower made of faience with green ochre, which goes so well with the blue sky, roof tiles and the greenery of the mountains. This is the dome of the second most important place in the city, around which the village developed in the 16th century.

The Church of St. Mary Magdalena is a real museum where you will find historical treasures: font from 1579, a wooden hat from the 700s, four paintings from 1600 depicting episodes from the life of St. Mary Magdalene, which made up the flaps of the organ. At this stage, the treasures of the church – museum only open the door to their history and heritage, preceding many other important symbols of their era stored here...

📍Amalfi Coast Authentic Cooking Class

🍽️ From the 20th century to the present day, the farmhouse has retained its historical allure, providing an authentic and immersive experience for visitors.

As the new millennium began, the farmhouse family introduced a unique experience that was not widely known or accessible at the time - cooking classes. The primary aim of this initiative is to impart the traditions of Italian and Amalfitanian culture to guests.

🍝 Three products were chosen that best represented Italian and local cuisine. The first one is pasta, which is the most famous and esteemed Italian dish. In the cooking demonstration, the host demonstrates how to prepare tagliatelle, although the dough can be used for various types of pasta (with a few exceptions). Tiramisu is the second sweetest dessert in Italian cuisine, and its simplicity may come as a surprise to you! Finally, we have the reigning queen of our class - the mozzarella, particularly the Fiordilatte variety. The cheese's origins are closely linked to the specific town where the farmhouse is located. It is made from a type of cow that is exclusively bred in this town, known as the agerolese cow.

How was this cow born? You will discover this and more during the cooking class! ❤️

📍Merano Traveler's Guide

It is time now to venture into the exceptional and captivating Dolomites! However, before we embark on this new adventure, let us begin by discovering the charming nearby towns, with Merano being the first stop on our itinerary.

The Trentino-Alto Adige region was incorporated into Italy post World War I, after 1918, having previously been under Austrian rule as part of the Tyrol crown land.

Merano is situated in an area known for its medieval castles and other historical sites, all nestled within the Old Town. Taking a leisurely stroll here is highly recommended, allowing you to admire the streets, squares, and architectural wonders. Don't forget to visit Duomo di Merano and take a walk across the Roman bridge spanning the Passiro River, constructed in 1616.

Visit:

✅ Kurhaus (Kurhaus), Kurzal is a building built in 1874 and completed in the early twentieth century with a grand ballroom. The Coursaus hosts scientific forums and symposiums, exhibitions, musical events, etc.

✅ The construction of the Church of St. Nicholas (Chiesa russo-ortodossa di San Nicola) was authorized by the Austrian government and approved by the Holy Synod in 1895-1897. This church is under the Diocese of Korsun of the Russian Orthodox Church. Religious services were halted after World War I and resumed in 1997, taking place 3-5 times annually.

✅ Constructed in 1900, the Teatro Puccini boasts opulent decorations and stucco ceilings. This venue hosts a variety of events including performances, concerts, presentations, entertainment, and scientific gatherings.

✅ One of the most renowned spots in Merano is undoubtedly the Baths - Termi di Merano! The natural mineral waters in Merano are infused with radon, providing positive effects on various body systems such as the nervous, circulatory, and musculoskeletal systems.
