"It is hard to detail the incredible experience I had in Sicily. I traveled there due to the myriad of historical and archaeological sites and expected to visit many of them. But I was truly amazed at the quality of the trip, based on one person, my driver/guide, Paolo Gallo. He was so well versed in Sicilian history, gastronomy, archaeology, sociology, viniculture and politics of the region that every trip in his Mercedes van was an independent education. I truly understood the sites I visited, the foods I ate, the wines I drank and a general overview of Sicily an under rated and poorly understood region of Italy.

It was a fascinating trip because Paolo truly loves his homeland and expressed his vast knowledge in perfect English.
