Lama Monachile: Also called Cala Ponte, this bay is probably the main attraction to see in Polignano a Mare. It is famous because it is located between two high rock walls, on which the houses of the old town rest, and the blue and crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. The beach is not sandy, but white pebbles, and in summer it is difficult to find a free place to put a towel.

The Old Town: The Old Town is very suggestive and picturesque: it is a perfect composition of white houses, which cling almost desperately to a rocky promontory kissed by the crystal clear waters of the sea. Also in the reserves there are animals that are not from Africa: Asian species include: Asian elephants, Indian and Sumatran rhinoceroses, gaur, water buffaloes, nilgais, blackbucks, banteng, markhor, Malayan tapirs, wild asses, sambar deer, Indian hog deer, yaks, gibbons, tigers (including white tigers), Asian black bears, Eld's deer, babirusas, chital, dholes, barasinghas, painted storks, peafowl, and Bactrian camels; North American species include: American black bears, brown bears, wolves (including Arctic wolves), American bison, elk, and white-tailed deer; South American species include: llamas, alpacas, jaguars, capybaras, anteaters, South American tapirs, rheas, and black-necked swans; Australian species include kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and black swans; European species include: European bisons, Eurasian wolves, mute swans, fallow deer, red deer, and moose.
Most safari parks have a "walk-around" area with animals too small or too dangerous to roam freely in the reserves, like: small birds, squirrel monkeys, penguins, marmosets, tamarins, mongooses, meerkats, lemurs, gorillas, reptiles, hornbills, red pandas, snow leopards, otters and warthogs. Some also have: children's zoos, aquariums, butterfly houses and reptile and insect houses. Besides animals, in the walk-round area, there are public facilities like toilets, snack bars and cafés, play areas and sometimes amusement rides. There can be walk-through exhibits with animals like kangaroos, lemurs and wallabies. The Knowsley Safari in England keeps Siberian tigers and giraffes in their walking area.
Safari parks often have other associated tourist attractions: golf courses, carnival rides, cafés/restaurants, ridable miniature railways, boat trips to see aquatic animals like sea lions, life-sized recreations of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, plant mazes, playgrounds, monorails, cable cars and gift shops.[citation needed] These are commonly found in the walk-around area. Il Cotriero is a welcoming bathing establishment by day, a restaurant pub with live music and DJ sets by night. The structure artfully nestled in the Mediterranean scrub has two bars, a small restaurant and free parking. Our menu includes sandwiches, salads, frize (typical Salento dish), fried foods, first and second courses. But our must have is the sunset aperitif starting from 6.30pm. We start again on June 26, 2021! There are many new features.
(umbrellas, sunbeds, lunch and aperitif). Further access will be possible based on the social distancing imposed by current regulations. We are waiting for you!

In 2019 we opened with succes “Villa La Dolce Vita” in Gallipoli, after 3 years we decided to make a change and open a Holiday Home near the beach…

We are happy to welcome you in a beautiful beach house, with 3 bedrooms with ensuite 3 bathrooms and kitchen.

In the outdoor space you can find a cosy corner to relax and also a bbq.

We rent the house with kitchen as 1 house to a family or as group of friends or you can only rent a room with bathroom.

You also have the option to make your own breakfast in the kitchen if you rent the whole house or a continental breakfast can be made for you at a small cost of 10 € per person

The bedsheets and bath towels are included in the price.

If you want you have the luxury to be guided in the area by our Butler Service on our tablet in the house.
There you can find everything about the area to visit, excursions, boat trips, restaurants, bars, discotheque, hamburgerplaces, pizzeria….

we will give you the info that you can not find on the Internet, because it will be local and not to touristic… so also not to expensive 🙂
