Corrado and Maria Antonietta, the owners of the "Casa Grande" di Santo Pietro, have decided to open this page on facebook to collect and contact all the Friends of Santo Pietro Estate and all those who love Sicily, the nature, the sea and the holidays. This being the case, we would like to give some information about our property, the land surrounding it, its history and our family, which has been deeply bound to this property and this land for over two centuries. La "Casa Grande" is the main house of an old farm, named Santo Pietro. The long history of this house and of this territory has deep roots in the local culture; therefore, we would like to suggest how new guests and friends of the Casa Grande might best get to know, understand and come to love this area of land and, particularly, our home. The estate of Santo Pietro covers an area of 50 hectares, spread between the rolling foothills of the Nebrodi Mountains and the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, in front of the Aeolian Islands. Overlooking the property, perched on its hill, is the village of S. The farm is mainly made up of olive groves and citrus fruits, although some space is given over to the cultivation of vegetables and other types of fruit trees. A few words should be dedicated to the main house (la Casa Grande) in which our family has traditionally spent the time of holydays. This is maybe why for us Santo Pietro is synonymous with feelings of joy, freedom and being carefree. The Casa Grande is an imposing, robust building in a wonderful position on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley below, the other buildings in the estate and the Tyrrhenian Sea. In autumn and winter, when air is particularly clear it seems that you can almost reach out and touch the Aeolian Islands, especially Alicudi and Filicudi, which are right in front of the main terrace. In the summer nights, from the same terrace, the starry sky is an unforgettable backdrop of peace and tranquility. The views enjoyed from the terraces, under the sunlight or the starlight, and the emotions and "atmospheres" that they are able to create in the soul of guests, are, in the opinion of many, one of the main elements of the special charm that is recognized to this house.
