Amazing breakfast this morning! I had some Trapanesi almond cookies 🍪

These are soft and chewy cookies made with almond paste, egg whites, sugar and lemon zest.

They are coated with sliced almonds for a crunchy touch and baked until golden brown. They are so fragrant and delicious 😋🙌

I had the most amazing pizza for dinner tonight in Trapani 🍕

It was a pizza with speck and pistachio, a combination that I never tried before but it was so delicious 😋

The speck was smoky and salty, and the pistachio added a crunchy and nutty touch.

The cheese was gooey and melted, and the crust was thin and crispy.

I loved every bite of it 🤤

I took a walk along Via Vittorio Emanuele, the main street of the historic center of Trapani.

I loved admiring the baroque churches ⛪️, the elegant palaces 🏛️ and the lively shops 🛍️.

This street is full of history and charm 😍

Although usually a coffee☕, milk 🥛, and some biscuits are enough, when you sit at the bar you order a special breakfast, specially in Sicily!

Here is a very simple but delicious fresh ricotta cheese cake.

Easter is just around the corner and I’m feeling so blessed to enjoy a delicious breakfast with this artisan Sicilian Colomba cake 🍰🐦.

Colomba is a traditional Italian Easter cake made with high-quality ingredients like fresh eggs, butter, natural yeast, candied orange zest, and crunchy almonds on top 😋.

It’s so soft and fluffy, just like a dove (Colomba means dove in Italian) 🕊️.

I visited the Purgatorio church in Trapani and I was amazed by its beauty and history.

The church was built in the late 17th century and has a stunning limestone façade with statues of the twelve apostles.

But the most impressive feature is inside: a collection of twenty life-sized sculptures depicting the passion and death of Christ.

They are called the "Mysteries" and they are made of wood, canvas and glue by local craftsmen.

They are carried in procession every Good Friday in a tradition that dates back to 1400.

It was a moving and unforgettable experience to see them up close. 🙏
