To all of my friends on facebook and off facebook, please share this post, it is important.
I am a first responder and survivor on the attack on the World Trade Center. The last 23 years I and many others that were at the World Trade Center are faced with serious medical conditions, sometimes deadly. I spent a good part of the end of 2001 till end of may 2002 in a hospital upstate New York.
I was diagnosed with Brain Damage in 2008, Toxic fumes that I was breading while I was there helping searching for survivors, stopped oxygen from reaching my brain. at first I was diagnosed with Dementia later on Italian doctors discovered that it is brain damage.
At the same time the World Trade Center doctors discovered problems with my lings. one of which traces with asbestos.
If that was not enough. At ground zero I was also injured and received surgery a few times during the past 23 years.
In 2019 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer stage 4, now I am dealing with prostate problems and a tumor ( benign) on the lower part of my spinal cord, I just finished treatments but I have decided with no surgery.
Since 2020 I have incurred 0ver $ 1,005,742.10 plus I was forced to take out a mortgage on our home to be able to see specialists and cancer care. I am sure that at some point the World Trade Center health group will pay our bills. Mine as well those of many others like me. But unless you help us by contacting your congressman and Senators it will not happen.
Please read the letter I have received from the attorney representing thousands of us affected by the World Trade Center Terrorist Attack
Letter from my attorney.
The World Trade Center Health Program is
Running Out of Money!
Dear Member of the 9/11 Community,
We hope this letter finds you in good health. The World Trade Center Health Program, which many of you rely on for 9/11 related lifesaving medical care, is running out of money!
Without new and permanent funding, the World Trade Center Health Program will have to make severe cuts to medical services starting soon - and may even have to turn away new responders and survivors who become sick from 9/11-related illness.
We need your help today to urge your members of Congress to support a new bill providing permanent funding for the World Trade Center Health Program so cuts do not happen. the
following steps will only take 2 minutes and will help all 9/11 responders and survivors have permanent medical care for the rest of their lives. The future health of you and your loved ones depends on you standing up and acting today.
1. Simply, click here to find your members of Congress.
2. Type in your address.
3. If your members of Congress are a "Sponsor!," thank them for joining in this effort.
4. If your members of Congress are "Not a Sponsor!," click to learn more and take action.
5. From there, you can enter your phone number, and they will call you and connect you to your Representative, free of charge, so you can talk to their staff and tell them you want their boss to co-sponsor the “9/11 Responder and Survivor Health Funding and Correction Act."
The bipartisan “9/11 Responder and Survivor Health Funding and Correction Act of 2024” (H.R. 9101/ S.4724) by Representative Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) and Senator Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY) will ensure that the WTC health program gets the full funding it needs.
They promised us that they would “Never Forget 9/11.” We need more than their words. We need them to act!
As you know, 69 cancers and many respiratory illnesses have been linked to the WTC toxins. The costs of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation have skyrocketed. The cost of treatments for many cancers often runs over $100,000 -$200,000, and these costs are currently increasing at over 10% every year,
In 2010, 2015 and in 2019, we asked members of the 9/11 Community to reach out to their Representatives in Congress to convince them to pass and extend the 9/11 Zadroga Health & Compensation Act. Thanks to your efforts, 99% of the members in Congress eventually voted in favor of the permanent extension of both the WTC Health Program and the Victim Compensation Fund (VCF).
Unfortunately, we need your help again.
This legislation will ensure funding for medical care now through 2090. It will provide funding both for those who are in the program now, and for those who will regrettably need to join the program in the future. You can also find out more on this issue at by visiting the Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act Inc. Website and sign up for updates on this issue and the progress of the legislation here.
Thank you for joining in this effort and calling your Member of Congress today. If you have any questions about this bill and taking action, please contact Hansen & Rosasco at (212) 697-3701.
With deep respect,
Dan Hansen & Troy Rosasco
