Well, I have been in business and very busy indeed! 💻 Only no time for social media😅

✈The relocation business is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, with COVID measures easying up and the introduction of European Green pass, we could notice a large volume of people resuming their travels and work assignments.
Companies have started hiring back and moving people accross different locations.

However, COVID is sadly not over yet!🦠 Most offices and public institutions are only receiving you with appointment and there is often a long waiting list involved, which makes processes slower and harder than usual.
✨That is when my help comes in handy! I create as always, personalized relocation packages and services to cater everyone's needs.

Emigrar es vivir con el corazón dividido.Esta frase me ha parecido que describe a la perfección como yo y muchas personas se sienten al haber emigrado😉

Aún así,no hay sensación más bonita y emocionante para mí que VOLVER✈️
Desde que compras el billete ya comienza esa ilusión y esos nervios en el estómago. Sobre todo cuando vivía en China, esto era especialmente intenso! Ahorrar, pedir las vacaciones, programar el viaje de casi 12 horas..😅

Ahora estando en Italia todo se simplifica y puedo volver mucho más a menudo pero eso no le quita emoción al asunto✨
El hecho de saber que el tiempo que tienes con tu familia y amigos es limitado te hace disfrutar a conciencia, transformando cada momento y encuentro en tiempo de calidad.

Este año he podido pasar mi 32 cumpleaños en España y con toda mi familia después de 10 años y ha sido tan especial para mí que me ha hecho ilusión compartirlo🎂

Today I am sharing with you the basics to take into account when renting a house/apartament in Italy. First of all, I must say that even if the law stipulates some guidelines, at the end of the day, it is the landlord who decides certain terms of the contract👇

DURATION:
⏰ The most common contract is what they called "4 + 4". That means it can last 4 years and you have the option to renew it for another 4. The renewal is automatic unless the tenant sends a cancelation letter approximately 3 months prior to the due date.
You could always leave your apartament/house giving a notice within the agreed time frame to do so. It usually goes from 3 to a month time.

DEPOSIT:
💶 It usually equivalent to 3 months rent but here again, it can be negotiable.
The security deposit is usually returned by the owner of the property upon expiry of the lease and only with the actual delivery of the keys. The property should be in the same condition in which it was left.

BILLS & EXPENSES:
🔑It is very important to clarify what are the expenses apart from the monthly fee. Unless you are in short term rental contract, there will be extra expenses to take into consideration.
What are the condominium expenses and what those include? Who is responsible for paying extraordinary expenses coming from damages? What about heating and water?
The registration fees of the rental contract are to be divided 50% between the owner and the tenant.

PARECIDOS PERO NO IGUALES.

¿Es muy facíl aprender italiano siendo español o hablando castellano,no?
Desde mi experiencia, es una verdad a medias.

Obviamente los dos idiomas suenan parecido y tienen en común el ser dos "lenguas romances" con raiz latina. Sin embargo, si profundizamos y estudiamos el Italiano nos damos cuenta que hay grandes diferencias y que no basta con "inventarse palabras"🙃

El hecho de poder comunicarnos y ser capaces de entender muchas cosas es un arma de doble filo- Por un lado, te puedes volver perezoso y no esforzarte por aprender BIEN el idioma. Por otro, los hispanohablantes solemos adquirir malos hábitos, muy dificil de corregir después, cuando intentamos aprender por nuestra cuenta.

Dicho esto, seguramente es más facíl y rápido el proceso de aprender Italiano que Alemán o Ruso, pero recuerda que no es lo mismo conversar o sobrevivir que hablar correctamente!

Many people ask me if to learn Italian is a MUST when living in Italy🇮🇹
I would definately say "YES", you should at least try.

Even if you are moving to a big city where surely you will find many people (mostly young) speaking English, it woud not be easy to get by in public offices, run errands or most importantly socialize with locals.

Regardless of where you emigrate, I consider the language a fundamental part of any country's culture and therefore, an act of respect to make an effort to learn it.
it will not only help you with your day to day activities but it will enrich your whole expat experience.

My husband is Italian🇮🇹, and you all know that!
Today I'm sharing with you some thoughts & impressions on what caught my attention at first and over the years 👇

🇮🇹 Italians are all about food! Well, this might sound a total cliché but it is TRUE🍝
When visiting my parents in law for the first time, I suddenly felt like in a movie- Beautiful olive trees all around the garden, a table full of people and mostly full of FOOD. On Sundays, Italians eat like it's the end of the world! I counted 5 different dishes and to my surprise, pasta is always the first course.

Another thing, worth mentioning is La MAMMA!!😍
Italian's mothers are famous worldwide. They are strong, determined and they want to keep everyone happy. My mother in law is no different, It is not necessarily just affection but she will make sure you are loved and would go out of her way to make you feel especial.

🌱I have been so lucky to travel a lot and I can tell you that Italian are amongst the most proud of their country, their tradition and their products.
I am so grateful that my father in law used that admiration to get me to reconnect with nature and value what the land has to offer.
Once a year, we spend a weekend picking up olives to have our own olive oil, we go to the woods to collect chestnuts and in summer, we gather together to make the most amazing tomato sauce from scratch.

✨I guess I am very grateful for the things I have had the opportunity to experience by being married to a person from another country.

Milan, I had missed you!👇

I've always loved big cities. I enjoy the vibes, the diversity, it´s infinite options and the feeling of being surrounded by people and noise.

After living in Asia for six years, I was thrilled by the idea of living in Italy's stylish fashion capital. Some people might say it is not the most beautiful city but surely has a very special vibe to it.
You breathe fashion, glamour and fun. I never got tired of walking around the city center admiring it's architecture or looking at it's majestic Duomo🕍
At golden hour, terraces and bars were always full with people having " aperitivo"🍸. A habit that I didn't quite understand at the begining and that I absolutely adore now🙃

Since the end of 2018 I'm living in Varese and I'm very happy, but I love remembering and coming back to places where I was happy💜

Siempre me han encantado las ciudades grandes. Me gusta el ambiente, las infinitas opciones que tienes para todo y la sensación de vida, al estar siempre rodeado de gente y ruido.

Después de vivir en Asia durante 6 años, me entusiasmaba la idea de vivir en la capital de la moda. Mucha gente piensa que no es una ciudad tan bonita, y puede ser verdad, pero en mi opinión tiene un encanto muy especial.
Se respira glamour, fashion y diversión. Nunca me cansé de pasear por el centro y admirar su bellísima arquitectura, o de mirar su majestuoso Duomo🕍

Al atardecer, todas las terrazas y bares se llenan de gente para disfrutar del aperitivo🍸 Una costumbre súper Italiana que al principio me costó adoptar pero que ahora me encanta!🙃

Vivo en Varese desde hace más de dos años y estoy muy contenta por el cambio, pero me encanta recordar y volver a los lugares donde una vez fui feliz💜

2️⃣ If you have been in Rome, I am sure you have thrown a lucky coin in the Fontana di Trevi💰..Did you ever wonder what happens to aproximately a million euros a year collected from the fountain?
It is donated to CARITAS for families in need🧡

3️⃣ Italy is the country with the largest number of World heritage sites🕍 Followed by China and Spain.

4️⃣ The leaning tower of Pisa is one of the most famous monuments in the world🇮🇹
Did you know dictator Benito Mussolini was ashamed of it and hated so much that he tried to fix it?😄

5️⃣ I am certain you heard of Sicily and Sardinia as two of the most beautiful islands in Italy🏝 However, did you know Italy has about 800 islands? Most of them inhabited🙃

🎢Migrating is a roller coaster.
You are anxious but at the very same time excited,you are enthusiastic about your new life but scared of the unknow. It's all about MIXED FEELINGS💔❤️

Time flies. Much faster when you have kids🤱 (If that is even possible) and you wonder what you might be missing back "home", when at the same time you are fully aware of the wonderful experiences you are gaining.

And what about living abroad during a PANDEMIC👑?
That is a whole other level, isn't it? You find yourself in the middle of two worlds.. What is happening here? How is the situation over there?

We never had to face this uncertainty of not knowing when you will see your loved ones again. Even more when your family & friends are spread across the world🌎🙋‍♀️

However, you keep calm and carry ON, because even the longest night comes to an END✨

Sientes angustia pero a la vez emoción,estás ilusionado por tu nueva aventura y a la vez te da miedo lo desconocido.Son los SENTIMIENTOS ENCONTRADOS💔❤️

El tiempo vuela, y mucho más cuando tienes hijos🤱, te preguntas constantemente que te estás perdiendo en tu "casa", pero también eres completamente consciente de las maravillosas experiencias que estás ganando en el nuevo lugar.

Y qué me dices de vivir en el extranjero durante una PANDEMIA👑?
Eso ya es otra historia,verdad? Te encuentras dividida entre dos mundos.. Qué está pasando aquí? Cúal es la situacion allí?

Nunca nos hemos tenido que enfrentar a esta incertidumbre de no saber cúando podrás ver a las personas que quieres. Todavía peor, si tu familia y amigos estan esparcidos por el mundo🌎🙋‍♀️

Sin embargo, mantengamos la calma y continuemos, porque no hay mal que dure 100 años✨

Who is behind Marca Expat?🤷‍♀️

My name is Paula Garrido & I'm from Spain☀

While working in China, Love surprised me and then brought me to Varese, where I now live with my husband and daughter👨‍👩‍👧

Ever since I was a young girl I knew my dream was to live and work all around the world.That is why I obtained my Swiss degree in Hospitality Management.
I went from Spain to➡️London➡️China➡️Italy

All of these rich experiences of moving around and starting from scratch in different countries were AMAZING. They made me grow and become the person I am today🙏BUT..
