Day tour to the Prosecco area today, Valdobbiadene to be precise and a little visit to the "Ostera senz'oste", tavern without an innkeeper in English...

As said, this was originally a tavern without an innkeeper. You would go inside, eat whatever you wanted, cheeses, cured meats, bread, wine and then leave a voluntary donation.

Now, for the past 4-5 years, they've added a cash register for payment because our government took the control on this as well... of course...

But it's still a particular place, nothing fancy, to eat something without going to the restaurant or trattoria

All food comes from local farms, so genuine and not expensive

Tour of the Dolomites today...heavy rain on the road and arrived at Lake Misurina it was snowing.... 0° C (32° F)... September 12nd... the weather is really changing... maybe in 10 years we will be skiing in the Dolomites in August... 🤦‍♂️

Hello everyone,

I've finally got a chance to share the highlights of our fantastic 10-day tour we did in August with a group of Australians.

We started in Venice, then headed to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, with stops in Padua, Bologna, Florence, Siena, Pisa, Rome, Salerno, Naples, Pompeii, and finally Rome again for departures.

The clients also took part in a pizza-making class in Naples, and I gave it a go too... I made a great pizza with fresh mushrooms, just like they do in Rome... yummy meal!

I also took a photo of one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in Pompeii.

This was a guided tour, but you can absolutely do it unaccompanied.

After a long time, today a day tour from Trieste to the Postoijna caves and Predjama castle, a few minutes drive from the caves, in Slovenija, less than 1hr drive from Trieste on the way to Lubijana

Enjoyable day with a couple from NYC, tour at the caves, good lunch and visit to the castle...

Three days ago the end of the tour... Bologna with the two famous leaning towers of the Garisenda and Asinelli, almost all that remains of the more than 300 that were there in the 15th century, were built by the wealthy Bolognese families to demonstrate their wealth, therefore, it was a challenge as to which family was able to build the tallest...

Then lunch at acetaia in Modena… great lunch…

Dolomites tour even in March… not a good choice but that’s it
Stop for lunch at Misurina lake, still completely frozen… and my lunch, sausages, porcini mushrooms and apfelstrudel with hot vanilla sauce… so good!
