The date was NOT chosen by chance: 1-1-2-3 these numbers are the first numbers in the Fibonacci sequence 😜⁠
Who was Fibonacci❓ He was an Italian mathematician also know as Leonardo of Pisa and Leonardo Fibonacci. The sequence was brought to our attention in 1202 and the pattern of counting means that each number is the sum of the previous two: 0-1-1-2-3-5-8-13 etc. 😲⁠
In modern times we use this sequence for computer data storage and processing and is useful in trading of stocks and shares and in architecture. it is also present in nature in DNA patterns, hurricanes, golden ratio and golden triangle.⁠

Venice: Caffè Florian is a coffee house situated in the Procuratie Nuove of Piazza San Marco. It was established in 1720, and is the oldest coffee house in continuous operation in Italy, and the oldest in the world.
The Caffè was patronised in its early days by notable people including the playwright Carlo Goldoni, Goethe and Casanova, who was no doubt attracted by the fact that Caffè Florian was the only coffee house that allowed women. Later Lord Byron, Marcel Proust, and Charles Dickens were frequent visitors and in more recent times Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were seen there during the filming of “The Tourist”.
The Sala del Senato was decorated by Giacomo Casa with the paintings “The Age of Enlightment, or Progress” “Civilization educating the nations”, and eleven panels representing Arts ad Sciences.
Casa inserted masonic symbols in the painting, allusion to Venice’s close connections with certain secret societies and illuminism. The Sala Cinese and Sala Orientale take their inspiration from the Far East with paintings of lovers and sc****ly clad exotic women painted by Antonio Pascuti. In 1872 another two great halls were added to the café.
The Sala degli Uomini Illustri was decorated by Giulio Carlini with paintings of ten notable Venetians: Goldoni, Marco Polo, Titian, Francesco Morosini, Pietro Orseolo, Andrea Palladio, Benedetto Marcello, Paolo Sarpi, Vettor Pisani and Enrico Dandolo.
The Sala delle Stagioni or Sala degli Specchi was decorated by Vincenzo Rota with the figures of women representing the four seasons. In 1920, during the anniversary of the café foundation, another room was added: The Sala Liberty. It is decorated in an art nouveau style with hand-painted mirrors and sumptuous wooden wainscoting.

St. Gennaro/San Gennaro - Naples
San Gennaro is the patron saint of Naples, where the faithful gather three times a year in Naples Cathedral to witness the liquefaction of what is claimed to be a sample of his blood kept in a sealed glass ampoule.
Thousands of people assemble to witness this event in Naples Cathedral three times a year: on September 19, on December 16, and on the Saturday before the first Sunday of May. The blood is also said to spontaneously liquefy at certain other times, such as papal visits.
The blood is stored in two hermetically sealed small ampoules, held since the 17th century in a silver reliquary between two round glass plates about 12 cm wide. For most of the time, the ampoules are kept in a bank vault, whose keys are held by a commission of local notables, including the Mayor of Naples. On feast days, all these relics are taken in procession from the cathedral to the Monastery of Santa Chiara, where the archbishop holds the reliquary up and tilts it to show that the contents are solid, and places it on the high altar next to the saint's other relics. After intense prayers by the faithful, including the so-called "relatives of San Gennaro", the content of the larger vial typically liquefies. The archbishop then holds up the vial and tilts it again to demonstrate that liquefaction has taken place. The announcement of the liquefaction is greeted with a 21-gun salute at the 13th-century Castel Nuovo. The ampoules remain exposed on the altar for eight days, while the priests move or turn them periodically to show that the contents remain liquid.
For faithful Neopolitans, the miracle is a sign that San Gennaro loves the city and its people, and will protect them.

In the United States, the "Feast of San Gennaro" is also a highlight of the year for New York's Little Italy, with the saint's polychrome statue carried through the middle of a street fair stretching for blocks.

The word salami is derived from the Latin words ”salsiccia” and “salumen” and it mean salted meats. it is a salted and spiced meat, shaped into a thin and elongated casing, and it undergoesthe fermentation process, left in warm humid conditions and then in cool humid conditions to help the drying process. Sometimes, smoking is preferred for prolonged fermentation due to the environmental weather conditions. Traditionally made from beef or pork is mixed with spices like pepper, garlic and wine, though many regional variations exist.
Some of the varieties of Salami are Cacciatore ”hunter” salami, Finocchiona (typical of Tuscany), Felino (Parma), Napoletano (Naples), Milanese (Milano), Soppressata (Calabria), Ciauscolo (Marche). Normally, all the old traditional salamis were named after the region or country.

A sneak peak into the Colosseum in Rome, the largest amphiteatre in the world!
Built from stone and concrete between 72AD and 80AD in the heart of Ancient Rome it could seat around 50.000 spectators fro gladitorial combats, wild animal hunts and ship naval battles. The gladiators that were in the Arena were not skilled professionals but rather unlucky slaves and criminals pitted against each other for the enjoyment of the public. In fact the venatio, or animal hunt, was one of the most popular shows for its novelty and shock appeal. Always in pursuit of ostentatious displays of wealth and power, the Romans procured exotic animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions, bears and crocodiles from the far reaches of the empire and sent them out into the pit, often along with unfortunate souls who would be torn to pieces. All events were organised by the Emperors to gain popularity and support from the public.
