A Valpolicella Story

Pagus was born in October 2000 as a Cultural Association, founded to promote the History and the Art of Valpolicella region. Everything started from a thesis, written for the University of Verona, about the production of wine and the extraction of stone in Valpolicella during the Roman times.

Indeed, the name “Pagus” refers to the district created by the Romans in Valpolicella probably during the first century BC.

In 2013 the Association became “Pagus Wine Tours”, a company with license of travel agency, and the tour proposals were not limited to the area of Valpolicella, the land of Amarone wine, but they expanded to include all the Veronese wine regions, such as Soave, Bardolino, Lugana, Custoza, Valdadige and also, out of Verona, Prosecco, Franciacorta and Trento areas.
