What we do and who we are:

We organise tailor-made holidays to Africa and beyond. It is a magical continent from gorillas, to migration, from Cape Town to Kilimanjaro, plains of teeming game to icing sugar beaches, our itineraries are as individual as our clients. Some people are apprehensive, others adventurous, most are busy. With a vast array of very different countries, each with their indivi

dual seasons, changing landscapes, diverse wildlife, complex habitats, animal migrations and ancient cultures, getting it right is complicated. Our combined passion and expertise will ensure you will get the best holiday suited to you. Our holidays may be life changing- Africa certainly was for us. We wish to share our knowledge of the most amazing countries, people and wildlife and give you unbelievable experiences and everlasting memories. Some of our ‘moments’:

Getting married on the banks of the Zambezi River and watching the sun set over The Victoria Falls, Zambia

Watching hatched baby turtles make their way to the sea, Nosy Iranja, Madagascar

Thunderstorms and lightening forks in the night sky, Sabi Sands, South Africa

Watching the sun rise from the safari tent with a morning cup of tea, Hwange, Zimbabwe

Snorkelling with nibbling fish in Anse Lazio, Praslin, Seychelles

Trekking with chimps in Mahale Mountains followed by a dip in Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania

Flying in a private plane over the ancient Skeleton coast, Namibia

Dodging crabs on moonlight beach walks, Benguerra Island, Mozambique

EXPERIENCE –TANZANIA

In the last few years there have been some exciting new openings and developments in Northern Tanzania and Alex went on a fact finding mission.

Having left the rather chilly climes of the UK in November my first glimpse of Tanzania was the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro – a majestic welcome to this beautiful and diverse country. My first stop was the elephant filled Tarangire National Park – the pilot did the usual flyby to check for any animals on the airstrip and then we landed in the warm dusty heat of the park. Half an hour later, our fabulous guide spotted 2 lionesses sitting under a tree with a kill. Another couple of kilometres on we found a huge breeding herd of elephants enjoying a dip in the river – such fun to watch the babies slip and slide in the mud – it is always a privilege and joy to watch these magnificent animals who have such human emotions.

It was a fabulous first morning in Tanzania and set the tone of the rest of the trip. My first two nights were spent at Little Chem Chem bordering the Tarangire and Chem Chem Lodge on the edge of Lake Manyara – these are both relatively new camps and bring another level of service and luxury to safari in Tanzania and most importantly are on their own private concessions ensuring privacy and flexibility for their clients.

From here we drove to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO world heritage site and surely one of the wonders of the Natural World. Excitingly one of our favourite safari operators (Nomad Tanzania) are opening a new camp on the Crater Rim in 2016 – watch this space!

Last stop were four magical days in the awe inspiring Serengeti. There are too many amazing moments to mention, but in short – we saw all 3 ig cats (leopard, lion & cheetah) within 1 hour of each other (of which the lion were sitting on rocks outside my tent while I was having my morning cup of tea!) and sitting on the roof of our Landover watching wildebeest and zebra as far as the eye could see (our guide estimated 200,000!).

Here you are spoilt for choice in terms of accommodation – from mobile tented camps that follow the migration, to luxury lodges and private houses. Tanzania has something for everyone – from the first time safari goer to an old African hand (be they aged 5 or 85).

7 night safari:
Staying Kuro camp (Tarangire), Nomad Crater (Ngorongoro Crater), Serengeti Safari Camp costs from: £3,985 per person including return flights from London. Easily combined with beach destinations Zanzibar, Pemba Island or Northern Mozambique.

DISCOVERING THE SEYCHELLES.

The Seychelles is truly picture perfect and exceeded expectations. An archipelago made up of 115 islands, accessed by short flights, helicopters or boat. The Seychelles is very diverse and stunningly beautiful.

The people are friendly and the service is amazing; the beaches are pure white and the water crystal clear; the food is delicious, mainly creole - lightly spiced and lots of fish.

A wide array of water activities are available from snorkelling, to diving, deep sea fishing to fly fishing, sailing (yacht charters) to power boats. Other activities include; turtle watching, trekking and great bird watching. The Seychelles is not about big resorts and more about escapism offering more intimate and boutique style accommodation. Highly recommended!

Affordable luxury:
A 7 night holiday staying at L’Archipel on Praislin Island (4 nights) and Denis Island (3 nights) costs from £2290 including return flights from London, inter-island flights on full board basis excluding drinks.

Ultimate luxury:
A 7 night to Maia (4 nights) and North Island (3 nights) costs from £9985 per person, includes return flights from London and helicopter transfers on an all-inclusive basis.

We're thrilled to announce the opening of a very special NEW Nomad camp - Entamanu Ngorongoro. Entamanu (meaning "circle" in Maa) is the only camp in the world where you can see the sun rise over the Ngorongoro Crater and the sun set over the Serengeti. It's our most ambitious camp yet - beautifully designed and styled to maximise the views while being comfortable on this high altitude site, and yet completely removable...want to know more? Amazing work Wilderness Safaris

*Profiles of Inspiration*

We are very proud to have been nominated as one of three finalists in the World Travel & Tourism Council's Awards - Environment category.

"At the end of the last millennium there were no wild rhino left in Botswana. Starting in 2000, however, Wilderness Safaris, working with the Botswana government, began to reintroduce both black and white rhinos back into the Okavango. During 2014 and 2015, the company facilitated the largest ever international black rhino translocation to date, airlifting them to a remote gravel airstrip deep inside the Delta. Today, fifteen years and several translocations later, viable breeding populations have been re-established in the region, widening the geographic distribution of the species at a time when poaching is threatening its survival elsewhere in southern Africa. All the while, the company has remained committed to its 4Cs ethos (Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce) and has worked closely with the communities who provide 85% of the staff at its camps. Its Children in the Wilderness programmes seek to inspire young environmental leaders to protect their natural heritage, and become custodians of these mighty creatures in the future."
