This place is MAGICAL!!! one of Jamaica's Natural wonder located on the north coast of the historic town of Falmouth Jamaica.This marvel is only found in 4 places in the world, however, the Falmouth mystic luminous lagoon is the one that shines the brightest, due to more consistent tropical climate here on the island, Falmouth Mystic Luminous Lagoon is currently the only one that you can go swimming in a comfortable setting., The fresh water from the Martha Brae River meets the salt-waters of the Caribbean sea and this amazing creation is formed due the water being very phosphorous which allows it to illuminate so brilliantly when disturbed. The glow is formed from small microorganisms that emit a flash of light when touched. These microscopic organisms create a natural phenomenon known as bioluminescence. Falmouth Mystic luminous lagoon being the brightest of them all amazes scientists and visitors from all around the world.
The Falmouth Mystic Luminous lagoon is the best place to see these microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates glow. The lagoon is home to millions of these organisms that thrive where the salt water meets the fresh water (brackish water). While you swim the water light up with a mysterious neon glow around you : with every move you make you will be in AWE! You will even see fish swim around with a neon blue glow surround them. The water around the lagoon is surprisingly warm and not very deep, where we take you swimming the dept ranges from 3 to 6 feet deep.
