The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalm 23:1‭-‬6 KJV

Located in the lush scenery of the parish of Portland, near Port Antonio in Hope Bay, are the tranquil Somerset Falls with the delicate Bridal Veil and hidden falls.

The original aqueducts and dams built over 400 years ago by the original Spanish settlers are still visible. The beautiful waterfall is surrounded by the area’s signature lush rainforest, where the Daniels River plunges down a narrow gorge.

Unlike Dunns River Falls, the key to this adventurous excursion in Jamaica is to jump in a boat and head upstream with your guide.

Enjoy a fantastic collection of exotic birds while you dine and have a cool drink at the Somerset Falls bar and restaurant.

Although a seemingly small sleepy town, a tour of Port Antonio and its environs will reveal a playground of the rich and famous over the ages, with the local Marina named after one of its long-time residents, swashbuckling writer, Errol Flynn.

Celebrities still sneak away here for luxurious stellar service at places like Geejam and the Trident hotel or one of the many villas that dot the shores or sit in the hills, to embrace this unpretentious, quiet slice of paradise.

The cultural and corporate heartbeat of Jamaica, Kingston’s gritty reputation tells only half the story of a city steeped in rich history, social complexities and a colourful cultural landscape.

Sandwiched between the blue mountain range to the north and the 7th largest natural harbour in the world to the south, Kingston’s location has recently been enhanced by its improved access via the north coast highway.

Take a tour at any of the mini museums downtown or the “living museum” that is the remnants of Port Royal, enjoy the island’s best fine dining and wine bars, watch an international cricket match at Sabina Park or track and field at the National Stadium – here in Kingston the multi-layered personality that is Jamaica is there to be experienced.
