Now that a little time has passed, and we have a come to terms with this, it only felt right to extend the tragic news to you all. Our beloved mother, and friend to many of you, Lorna Nelson sadly passed away on the 18th March 2024.
As many of you who met her will know, Mum was not like anyone else. Her intelligence, wit, beauty, strength and generosity carried her own uniqueness. She cared to a fault, particularly for those who had less. To most, she was a beacon of knowledge and wisdom, always eager to share what she had learned with others.
As a mother, she was our biggest cheerleader, a best friend and confidante. Having such a wonderful and inspiring person as our mother was a priceless honour, to know her was to be inspired. She was proud of all that we had accomplished thus far, excited for our future plans and she believed in us immensely. We are so grateful to have had her guidance and wisdom as our North Star.
When the time is right, we will hold ceremonies to celebrate her life in both Kingston and in London, where family and friends can come together to honour her memory and legacy. Mum taught us life doesn’t have to be serious to be seriously impactful, and her mark on the lives of those she touched will never be forgotten.
Many have asked us what will become of Tranquility Estate – well, it will always be our family home, and will now be managed as an Airbnb instead of a Bed & Breakfast, as a location for retreats and offsites as well as video shoots. Seeing guests enjoy the Estate as much as she did made Mum proud, and so we will continue to share this beautiful space that she created.
Rest in peace Mum, your journey on this earth may be over but you will never be forgotten. We will keep your memory alive through telling your story and giving back in your name.
