Akoma Ntoaso Tours and Products offers Afrocentric tours of Jamaica around the year. Our specialized tours (ranging from ten days to two weeks, with options for an extended stay of up to 6 months) aim to teach and educate others on the resilient and unique history, heritage and culture of Jamaicans of Afurakan origin. The Black demographic constitutes the majority population on the island, howeve
r the powerful and rich cultural legacy of Jamaica's Afurakan descendants is largely unknown. Akoma Ntoaso Tours is based in a discreet rural district known as Porus that borders both the parishes of Manchester & Clarendon. We conduct our tours from the months of December to August, up to four times a year, depending on interest and request. All of our tour packages include accomodations at a Jamaican owned guest house in the region, daily breakfast meals, airport pick up/drop off and transportation to all the sites of interest on the island. Akoma Ntoaso Tours intends to assist in ensuring that the tourism industry becomes a source of economic wealth and financial prosperity for Jamaica's local population, because who knows Jamaica better than its' own citizens? Why should they not benefit from the resources that belong to them by birthright? We must remember that what rightfully belongs to a people can never truly be taken away from them......therefore it is our Duty to work towards the return of Jamaica's resources to its' indigenous population. We want our guests to experience the REAL Jamaica that does not hide or dilute the true spirit and energy of the island. We want our guests to know what life is like in rural Jamaica and we want to give them an opportunity to experience it first hand, up front and center! We welcome you to Join Us and we look forward to meeting you in Jamaica in the future!! The major sites, historic landmarks and places of interest that we visit on the island are fully detailed at our website located at www.akomatours.yolasite.com. Be sure to contact Us by email for further inquiries at [email protected] or reach out to Us via our "Contact" page at our website. Community Outreach & Education:
The Akoma Ntoaso Tours Book Drive was established in the summer of 2014 when we became more aware of the need for Afrocentric resources and education in rural Jamaica. It continues to be an ongoing initiative to provide Afrocentric educational material, learning tools, school supplies, toys, games and books for Black children in rural Jamaican communities. Our first Book Drive distribution was in the summer of 2015 and it was a great success. We look forward to increasing our distribution of books and school supplies in the region in the near future, and will hopefully be able to expand to other regions of Jamaica as time goes on. If you would like to donate to this cause, visit our A.N.T. Book Drive blog page at www.umkhontowesizwe.wordpress.com, go to the "HOME" page and press the "DONATE" button which will direct you to begin a transaction with Paypal. You can also contact US at [email protected] to send supplies to Jamaica directly by mail or to find out more info about the Book Drive.
