Parish Church, Black River. Bruised by Hurricane Beryl, but upright and splendid in the morning sun. Many windows got broken or destroyed. Not an easy fix for this type of window. It is an unrelenting labour of love to maintain a structure such as this, fighting termites, water damage and the numerous other crosses that afflict old buildings! Magdala. Fading glory from the 1890s.

Built as a home for T. P. Leyden, this 3-storey house was lit by electricity. The grounds accommodated stables, a conservatory, and a tennis court.

So much potential for showcasing Black River in its heyday.
