Holy Land: Jordan & Jerusalem

Day 01 - APT - AMMAN
Meet and assist on arrival, transfer to hotel in Amman.
Day 02 – AMMAN – JERASH – UM QEIS - AMMAN
Breakfast. Drive to the north of the country to visit Jerash one of the best preserved cities of the Great Decapolis with its numerous great monuments. Continue to Um Qais. Um Qeis is known as ancient Gadara, one of the most brilliant ancient Greco-Roman cities of the Decapolis located in the north of Jordan; and according to the Bible, the spot where Jesus cast out the devil from two demoniacs (mad men) into a herd of pigs. Perched on a splendid hilltop overlooking the Jordan Valley, the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights, Umm Qays boasts an impressive colonnaded terrace and the ruins of two theatres. . Back to Amman for dinner and overnight.
Day 03 – AMMAN CITY TOUR – BETHANY - DEAD SEA - MADABA
Breakfast. Morning city tour of Amman: visit of the Roman amphitheatre, the Citadel and the Umayyad Palace. Continue to “Bethany beyond Jordan”, where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. Drive to Dead Sea for swim & relax. Continue to Madaba, home of the most famous Byzantine mosaics. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 04 - MADABA – KING HUSSEIN/ALLENBY BRIDGE – JERUSALEM - MADABA
07:30 - After early breakfast transfer to King Hussein/Allenby Bridge to cross to Israel. Drive to Bethlehem, the Birth town of Jesus Christ. Here we visit the Church of the Nativity with local Palestinian guide, including the Grotto of the Mangery. This church is the oldest church in the world, which was never destroyed till this very day.
Transfer to Jerusalem.
12:00 – 16:00 -Free time in Old City (no guide). You will be provided with a map, in which the most popular sites will be marked, as well as the meeting point with your driver.
16:00 – 17:00 – transfer to Allenby/King Hussein Bridge to cross back to Jordan. Transfer to Madaba for overnight.
Day 05 – MADABA – MT.NEBO – KING's HIGHWAY – KERAK - PETRA
After breakfast check-out from the hotel and transfer to visit Mt. Nebo - one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan, located 10 km west of the Roman Byzantine town of Madaba, for this is where Moses died and was buried. Continue to the south of Jordan via the ancient beautiful road King's Highway, which was a part of the Silk Road in old times. Visit of Kerak, the Crusader Castle from the 12th century. Continue to Petra for overnight in a hotel.
Day 06 - PETRA – WADI RUM - AQABA
In the morning, you will start your visit to Petra. Walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Nabatean Theatre, the royal tombs, the Roman Road, the great temple, the temple of the Winged Lion and the basin.
During the time of Jesus and the Apostles, one of the East Mediterranean’s greatest trading centres was located in the southern Jordan city of Petra, the extensive rock-cut capital of the Nabataean Kingdom.
During the Exodus, Moses and the Israelites passed through the Petra area in Edom. Local tradition says that the spring at Wadi Musa (Valley of Moses), just outside Petra, is the place where Moses struck the rock and brought forth water which is called now Ain Musa (Moses' water spring).
Continue to Wadi Rum for 2 hrs sunset jeep tour. Continue to Aqaba for overnight.
Day 07 – AQABA
Free day in Aqaba. Here you have a huge choice of entertainments: fishing, windsurfing, swimming, diving, water bikes, boat cruises. The average of annual temperature of water in the Gulf of Aqaba allows enjoying bathing & diving all year around. Local restaurants and variety of traditional oriental shops of Aqaba will be glad to welcome you.
Option: Boat Cruise with sea-food lunch on board and snorkeling kit.
Day 08 – AQABA – AMMAN APT (or Aqaba APT)
Transfer to APT for departure.
