The Fuji Azami, also called the Fuji Thistle, is a special plant that grows high up on Mount Fuji, even reaching 2,700 meters! Its strong roots help keep the mountainside stable, preventing landslides. It's the biggest thistle in Japan, and blooms in late summer, near the end of the usual climbing season. Although you can eat its roots, it's important to leave them alone on Mount Fuji.

Another beautiful day above the clouds!

This marks our last in-season tour for 2024.

We will offer off season trips for about another month and after lots of requests we will be running 1- day group off season tours from Tokyo starting September 23, 2024.

Although colder, harsher weather and no mountain huts are open, the off season is a less busy and more peaceful time of year on Mt Fuji.

These beautiful structures are a symbol of Shintoism, Japan's indigenous religion. They represent the transition from the mundane world to the divine, inviting you to leave your worries behind and enter a realm of peace.

There are numerous torii gates along the Fujinomiya route leading to the Okumiya Shrine at the summit.
