Today, we participated in the #Uchimizu event here in #Nihonbashi, which took place on #Nakadori Street between #COREDO 1 and 2! Uchimizu is the Japanese tradition of sprinkling water on the streets to cool them down in the summer heat. Combining 打ち (uchi), meaning “to hit or strike” and 水 (mizu), meaning “water”, the term describes scattered water hitting the ground. Communities and neighborhoods sometimes hold large communal uchimizu events in public spaces like plazas or shopping streets, working together to cool down the city.
