Hanami-yama is one of the most famous spots to see cherry blossoms in Fukushima and was created by local farmers over a long period of time. Every March as plum blossoms begin to bloom, approximately 70 types of flowers including cherry blossoms, peach trees, forsythia and magnolia would follow and covers the mountain. Once you walk to the top while enjoying the flowers, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Azuma mountain range and the city of Fukushima!

Iwaki City is where the cherry blossoms bloom earliest in Fukushima Prefecture. You can enjoy the collaboration of the 500-year-old weeping cherry tree and a large tori gate at Ogawa-Suwa Shrine.

Mt. Karo-san is where you can enjoy trekking regardless of the season due to it’s warm climate, making it the perfect spot for viewing seasonal flowers. Beginners and families can easily climb the mountain and you can see a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean from the top. There is even a hot spring near the trailhead that helps your body to get refreshed after trekking.

The 600 meters (1968 feet) long Abukuma Cave, designated as a National Natural Monument, was discovered by chance during limestone mining. Once you get out of Yumoto Station, you can see the scenery of the hot spring town with hotels and day-trip bathing facilities along the street. Iwaki Yumoto hot spring has a history of over 1,600 years and has been producing 3740 gallons of hot water/min, which is one of the largest volumes in the world(and it contains minerals that are good for your skin!) There is even a foot bath in front of the station, so you can soak in the hot spring as soon as you get there!
