PRESS RELEASE
July 9, 2020

PALAWAN, MULING KINILALA BILANG ‘BEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD’ NG ISANG INTERNATIONAL PUBLICATION

COMFORT FOR LSIs

28 tents have already been assembled at the social hall of the NAIA Terminal 3 in an effort to provide comfort and convenience to Locally-Stranded Individuals (LSIs) who are currently lodged at the airport while waiting for their flights.

This forms part of the overall plan of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), under the guidance of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), to put up 100 tents for the LSIs, with the additional tents expected to be established soon.

Apart from the tents, MIAA also provided a dedicated shower area at the airport’s parking lot, for the exclusive use of LSIs.

These requirements differ from province to province, and are revised and updated constantly in line with the anti-COVID-19 arrangements of each locality.

For more information, please see here.

MANILA (NAIA) Terminal Assignments

All our international flights from Manila will depart from NAIA Terminal 1. Arrivals will be at NAIA Terminal 2.

Departure and arrival of all domestic flights will be at NAIA Terminal 2.

Flying Safely in the ‘New Normal’

In compliance with international health and safety protocols, PAL is strictly implementing Fly Safe “new normal” practices to protect our passengers.

Please bring your own face masks or facial coverings, as you are now required to wear face masks at all times – at the airport and throughout your flight.

We encourage you to check-in online and arrive early at the airport to allocate extra time for new safety procedures– at least 3 hours prior to departure for domestic flights; and 4 hours prior to departure for international flights.

Our cabin crew would have undergone medical evaluation prior to their duty, and will be wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for your protection on board the flight. A modified meal and snack service will be offered on board, using sealed packaging instead of traditional meals.

Don’t worry about the cabin air --- all PAL aircraft are equipped with high-technology systems that continuously infuse fresh air across the cabin (cabin air is replaced every 2 to 3 minutes), as well as HEPA filters that trap viruses, bacteria and other contaminants with 99.9% efficiency. The onboard air creates a cleaner environment that is safer than most enclosed public spaces and comparable to hospital operating rooms.

Emirates plans to operate 18 Manila-Dubai flights in July

UAE s flag carrier Emirates is planning to operate a total of 18 flights between Manila and Dubai this month.

In a statement, Emirates said the planned flights are aimed at allowing travelers currently in the Philippines, including UAE residents returning home, to connect to any destination on Emirates' current network of 52 destinations in Gulf Cooperation Council, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

The planned flights are EK332/333 which will be for July 5, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31; and EK334/335 for July 8, 12, 22 and 29.

“Flight EK333 is scheduled to depart Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 18:15 and arrive in Dubai at 23:00 local time,” Emirates said.

Filipinos stranded in cities around the world, where Emirates currently flies, can also safely transfer in Dubai and travel on flight EK332, departing Dubai at 03:10 and arriving in Manila at 16:15, it said.

Meanwhile, flight EK334 is scheduled to depart at 09:10 from Dubai with arrival time planned for 22:10 Manila.

“EK335 departs Manila at 23:55 and arrives in Dubai at 04:30 the following day,” Emirates said.

The airline said that following the announcement last week that Dubai will be open to business and leisure visitors from July 7, new air travel protocols will be in place to facilitate travel for UAE citizens, residents and tourists while safeguarding the health and safety of visitors and communities.

Emirates said it has implemented a comprehensive set of measures at every step of the customer journey to ensure the safety of its customers and employees on the ground and in the air, including the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits containing masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and antibacterial wipes to all customers.

The airline also reminded customers that travel restrictions remain in place, and travellers will only be accepted on flights if they comply with the eligibility and entry criteria requirements of their destination countries. -MDM, GMA News

June 2020] AirAsia’s updated list of flights until 15 July
MANILA, 27 June 2020 – Following AirAsia’s resumption in the Philippines on 5 June, more commercial flights are being arranged as we restore our domestic network.

The resumption of services will initially be for key domestic routes and will gradually increase to include international destinations in the following months.

Updated routes are based on new developments following coordination with our partners in the government, including local government units.

Select flights are open for booking via the airasia.com website and our mobile app. Guests may use their credit accounts to redeem these flights. Additional routes and flight schedules will be on the AirAsia website and mobile app, subject to approval from the authorities.

Following the government’s recent announcement, locally stranded individuals (LSIs) will not be allowed on flights going to regions 6 (Western Visayas) and 8 (Eastern Visayas) for two weeks starting 28 June.

As AirAsia gradually resumes services, guests are informed that operations for domestic flights will be temporarily moved to Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from its previous location at Terminal 4.

The temporary suspension of Terminal 4 operations is until further notice by airport authorities.

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and Allstars remains AirAsia’s top priority. AirAsia is complying with advice and regulations from the local government, civil aviation authorities, global and local health agencies, including the World Health Organization.

Guests can expect enhanced safety measures throughout the entire journey, including pre-flight, in-flight, and arrival processes. These include the mandatory wearing of face masks to be permitted to travel, amongst others. Guests are also advised to check and comply with measures implemented by local airport authorities for a smooth travel experience.

Answers to frequently asked questions, including on travel documents, may be found here.

AirAsia is closely monitoring this situation and reserves the right to announce further policies according to the latest developments.
