During low tide, a sandbar emerges, linking Chirin Island to the mainland. This fleeting connection exclusively occurs from March to October and lasts one to four hours a day, depending on the weather conditions. Take a ride through the legend of Ibusuki...🐉 The motif of the "Ibusuki Tamatebako" train is based on the legend of Ryugu (Dragon Palace), Ibusuki being the birthplace of the famous tale.
The train is overall decorated inspired by the Tamatebako, a magic box given by the princess of the sea to the fisherman Urashima Taro after he rescued a turtle🧜‍♀️🐢 The sea side of the train is white and the mountainside is black, representing Urashima Taro, whose black hair turned gray after opening the Tamatebako.
At the station, the train is sprayed with a mist as soon as the doors open, reminiscent of the white smoke that comes out of the box in the story. Don't miss the chance to embark on a whole new journey!
