金沢城・兼六園四季物語～冬の段～
金沢の季節限定の夜の観光イベントの一つ、それが兼六園のライトアップ。ライトアップされた雪吊りや紅葉が幻想的な雰囲気を醸し出し、昼とは全く違った美しさを楽しめます。
2月に行われる「冬の段」では、美しい雪景色や凍った湖面と、ライトアップされた樹木の荘厳なコントラストを見に、多くの人々が訪れます。
兼六園のライトアップは年に6回行われます。金沢旅行を計画する際には、ぜひライトアップのタイミングもあわせてご確認ください。
Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden Seasonal Tales of Winter
One of Kanazawa's seasonal nighttime sightseeing events is the lighting up of Kenrokuen Garden. The illuminated snow hangings create a fantastic atmosphere and offer a completely different beauty from that of the daytime.
During the “Tales of Winter” in February, many visitors come to see the majestic contrast between the beautiful snowy scenery and frozen lake surface and the illuminated trees.
Kenrokuen Garden is lit up six times a year. When planning your trip to Kanazawa, please be sure to check the timing of the lighting up.

宇多須神社 節分祭
節分とは立春の前日に行われる日本の伝統行事で、季節の変わり目に鬼や邪気を追い払って福を招き、無病息災を願います。
ひがし茶屋街近くの神社「宇多須神社」では毎年、神に奉納する演奏や踊りなど様々なパフォーマンスが境内で行われ、多くの地元住民や観光客が芸妓さんの奉納踊りを楽しみに集まります。鬼を外に追い払い、福を家内に呼び込むための「福豆」が撒かれる様子は圧巻です。

Utasu shrine "Setsubun"
Setsubun is a traditional Japanese event held on the day before the first day of spring, to drive away demons and evil spirits at the turn of the season, to invite good fortune, and to wish for good health and good fortune.
At Utasu Shrine, a shrine near Higashi Chaya-gai, various performances dedicated to the gods, including performances and dances, are held every year on the shrine grounds, and many local residents and tourists gather to enjoy the dedication dances of geiko (apprentice geisha). It is a spectacular sight to see “fuku-mame” (lucky beans) being thrown to drive ogres out and bring good fortune into the home.

Kanazawa Dezomeshiki（New Year's Ceremony） - Kaga Tobi (firefighters) Ladder Climbing and Simultaneous Water Discharge
This is an annual New Year's event in Kanazawa, held at Kanazawa Castle Shinmaru Square. The “Kaga Tobi,” or feudal lord firefighters, protected the Kaga Clan's residence in Edo. Their valiant and daring activities and magnificent equipment are truly synonymous with the Daimyo Firefighters!
The powerful ladder-climbing performance by the approximately 1,300 members of the Kanazawa City Fire Brigade, who carry on a 300-year tradition, is a must-see.

Naoto Uda, Kenroku-tei, who tells interesting stories based on the origins of Kenrokuen Garden
Mr. Uda is the fourth generation owner of Kenrokutei, a restaurant in Kenrokuen. It is no exaggeration to say that Kenrokuen and Kanazawa itself have become his life. As the president of the Kenrokuen Tourist Association, he also focuses on providing a special guiding service that tells the various “stories” that Kenrokuen has to offer, providing a fresh and enjoyable guiding experience even for those who have been to Kenrokuen many times before.

Kutani ware is known for its “Gosai,” or “five colors,” which are green, yellow, red, purple, and navy blue, and is characterized by its gorgeous painting. By painting on three-dimensional objects such as vessels, sake cups, and flower vases, it is possible to emphasize a three-dimensional effect and create a sense of the world. Kutani Kosen Kiln is characterized by its integrated production process, from molding on the potter's wheel to overglaze painting and even sales.

こもがけ - 冬の金沢の風物詩
金沢に降る雪は水分を多く含んだぼたん雪が多いため、雪の水分による土塀の損傷や、付着した積雪による土剥がれを防ぐことを目的として、例年12月最初の週末に長町武家屋敷跡界隈では土塀を寒さや雪から守る「こも」を掛ける作業を行います。
雪吊りとあわせて冬の金沢ならではの景色をお楽しみください。
こも掛けは3月中旬まで見ることができます。
Komogake - a winter traditional thing in Kanazawa
In order to prevent damage to the earthen walls and soil from snow accumulation, “Moko” is used to protect the earthen walls from cold and snow on the first weekend of December every year in the area around the Naga-machi Bukeyashiki (samurai residence).
Please enjoy the unique view of Kanazawa in winter together with the snow hanging.
The “komogake" can be seen until mid-March.
