We had guests from the Philippines in Nabari! We hope they enjoyed the “shuriken” ninja star throwing, hiking at the serene Akame 48 Waterfalls with beautiful bamboo lantern illumination, and delicious local food!
It’s been getting colder in the mornings and evenings. We had a snowfall last Saturday in East Nara Nabari! The snow is gone now, but that’s a sign of the beginning of winter, and the autumn foliage season will be ending soon.

The park is near the 735-meter peak of Torimiyama or Mt. Torimi, where you can overlook the mountain range of the Uda area.

Finally, I got to experience takigyo (waterfall training) at Aoba-no-Taki Falls!
After a prayer by the priest of Seiyo-ji, we walked up the hill by the temple. The air became cooler as we approached the falls.
The weather and the amount of water were in perfect condition that day. Allowed to enter the waterfall a dragon god is said to inhabit, I concentrated on this very moment under the plunging sacred water.
After the training, we return to the temple and meditate for about an hour. I was surprised at how refreshed I felt, completely different from when I arrived at the temple.
It was a brand-new experience that I definitely want to participate again🙏 - T

In Mie Prefecture, there are hidden gems known as “Akame 48 Waterfalls” and "Iga Ninja Training Grounds", which have beautiful scenery.
I went to Soninowa Marché, a farmer’s market in Soni Village.
The marché is held twice a month on Fridays at Soninowa Kitchen Katte", a shared kitchen and store across from Soni Village Hall.
Today, I bought grape tomatoes, Manganji peppers, and a salty tomato sauce, which the staff recommended! Now I’m thinking about what I cook with them for the weekend😊 - Akiko
