These two were able to land a 10-cup and 5-cup custom kendama at the same time on the first try!! Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy that’s super fun and good for your hand-eye-coordination. Stop into SPIKe and try it out any day of the week from 10:00am-5:00pm to try it out!

The Kuro-Jishi (Mythical Black Lion) Festival is a traditional festival from the Nagai area, where dancers playing the role of the Black Lion perform the Lion Dance to pray for good harvest and the safety of the people. Tokiniwa town held their own Kuro-Jishi Festival on August 24th. With perfect timing, a train on the Flower Nagai Line passed behind the dancers, creating a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.

Michi no Eki - Kawanominato Nagai Celebrates is 1,000,000th Visitor!
Yesterday (2nd April 2019) the Takahashi family were surprised to hear that they were the lucky 1,000,000th visitors! They received some commemorative items, including a kendama, and celebrated with Nagai's mayor.
Kawanominato Nagai will be celebrating its 2 year anniversary later this month on Sunday 21st! Stay tuned for more details!
