Hi there! I had a wonderful time with lovely twins from Germany 🇩🇪 We visited various places such as Gangoji Temple and Shiga Naoya Former House ✨

I am still not confident in my guiding skills, but thanks to them we were able to use English, German and Japanese very well and we talked a lot☺️ We are close in age, so I really enjoyed it🥰

He loves anime and has been studying Japanese for two years! What a master even of Kanji😳 I was so glad that he told me his impressions in Japanese! From our conversation, I felt very much the spirit of his busido😎
She was a graduate student in biology and I respected her very much! We also talked about the differences between German and Japanese universities✨ Her university has a beer garden next to the library where some students drink beer from 5 am😳 She said people in Germany are very active early in the morning! But I would prefer an exception for drinking😂 Also, I heard that the professors and students are very close so home parties are held at the professor's house✨ This is totally different from Japan!

Please enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan! I hope to go to a Christmas market someday🥰
Danke schön💕

Hi!! I guided two group tourist, one girl comes from America, and another family come from Germany.
Girl really surprised at how the Buddha is big, and listened carefully to my explain :)
After her, I guided Germany family to Todaiji temple, Kasuga taisha, Kofukuji temple and Mochi shop😄 They also listened carefully my guide and share the difference between Japan and German! It was really interesting for me and fun time!!
It was the last day for them to explore Japan. So, on the way to place, we took a look back on their Japanese trip , and I really enjoyed listening their journey ☺️
We went to Todaiji, Kasuga Tanisha and Japanese garden.

Thank you so much and hope you have a great rest of time in Japan ;)

Hi there! I guided a lovely couple from Italy today🇮🇹

I was glad they chose to visit Nara at the end of their trip! They said they were surprised to know so many volunteer guides in Japan! Perhaps there are spirits of hospitality that cannot be hidden😎

They showed me a guidebook written in Italian that introduced Nara to them☺️ It was interesting because it contained detailed information about recommended sightseeing spots and Nara’s history✨ I was able to learn about Nara from a new angle😌
Also, she likes to travel and collect Starbucks mugs from different places🥰 She showed me a mug with a cute deer design🦌

They will be leaving Japan tomorrow to return to Italy. Thank you for a great time! Have a safe trip✨

你好!I guided a lovely tourist from Beijing🇨🇳
We went to Kasugataisha and Todaiji.

We talked a lot about the cultures of China and Japan✨
I was impressed to know about fortune telling called 八字. It tells your fate only with your birthday and birthtime.
I was surprised we can know our fate from 八字 by a smartphone app!😯
She showed my fate and told me some meanings! I wanna learn more about it!

Since I'm in the 3rd grade of university and it's about when we start job hunting, we talked a lot about the carrier. I learned a lot from her!
She talked about her job happily and looked enjoying her job. I wanna enjoy working in the future like her!🤩

Thank you for listening to my explanation enthusiastically and for the wonderful time together!
谢谢,再见!

Ciao! We had a wonderful family from Italy 🇮🇹✨

We visited Kasugataisha Shrine, Todaiji Temple, a mochi shop, and Kofukuji Temple.

They were very kind and knowledgeable about Japan. During the bus ride, we talked about Ghibli movies! We also enjoyed talking with their two children. They liked deer so much and said Ciao to every deer they saw 😂 They were so adorable 💞 In addition, they liked Japanese food 😳 Their tolerant attitude towards a different culture really surprised me. It's hard to believe that they are still children... I learned a lot from them!!

I’m so glad to have met such a sweet family. I want to visit Sardegna one day! ✨ Grazie mille ☺️

I guided a journalist from Canada🇨🇦 Surprisingly, his middle name was same as my first name😂
I showed him around Kofukuji temple and drank a tasty warabimochi drink together. It was his first time to drink mochi. At first, he doubted it,but he liked it very much.
He has been traveling many places by himself for about a year! I was so jealous 😆He taught me how to wonderful traveling is.
For example, you can broaden your horizons and accept not only good points but also bad points of each country!! I was so happy that I met you😙Have a nice trip ✈️

They are from Rumania and Ukraine.

They listened to my explanation enthusiastically, which made me happy 😊
They even tried to wash hands before entering the Buddha Hall of Todaiji temple!

I hope they’re having a good time in Japan!

I learned daily life in Spain through this guide. They said there are legs of Iberian pork in each house and families eat over several months!🐷

They seemed to enjoy their first trip in Nara!

Today we guided the funny and lovely twins from the UK.🇬🇧

They were close in age to us, but they had experienced a gap year and had different majors, so we asked each other questions about each other's interests!💓

They were addicted to stamp rallies in Japan and had already collected almost half of the stamps in their notebooks! 😲At the beginning of today, we asked at the information centre where we could collect stamps in Nara and they were very happy to collect so many stamps. Besides stamps, they also collect “gosyuin(Calligraphy and stump that we can get at temples and shrines)”, and I was very happy to meet a tourist who collects “gosyuin”for the first time and share a common hobby!😆

I felt like I had a fun adventure, taking unusual routes and visiting new places! I laughed a lot!!!🤣✨

Thank you sooo much!
Have a good trip!

Visited places: Prefectural office, Himuro-shrine, Yoshiki-en, Todaiji- temple, Kasugataisya-shrine, Kofukuji- temple, Nara Visiters Bureau

你好!I guided a mother and a daughter from China in Todaiji🇨🇳

They were surprised by how big the building is👀 The Great Buddha in Todaiji is influenced by the Longmen Grottoes in China!

The daughter researcher of classical Chinese literature✨ I also learned a bit of it in high school. We read classical Chinese differently in Japan (read like classical Japanese), so I told her about it, too!

Though it was a short time, I enjoyed it a lot😊
谢谢!

Hi there!
Today I guided a person from Canada.🇨🇦
She is a Ph.D. student studying about genetics, and she came to Japan for a conference! I am also a science major, so it was very interesting to hear about her research📖 During her summer vacation as an undergraduate student, she volunteered to help Ph.D. She is really keen on her research!!!
She also said that she likes 100 yen stores and I introduced some of my recommended snacks to her. I wonder if she eats them on the train back to the hotel.
I was happy that she said it was her best memory of Japan so far!🥰

Have a wonderful trip!

I guided lovely friends from China🇨🇳
We enjoyed talking about difference from Japan and China.

I learnt that there were statues with the same name in China, but it was different. They showed me pictures and it was interesting that the Japanese statues had trident, while the Chinese statues had an umbrella!!

They were also interested in red stamps. In their country, some museums and libraries have only stamps. So, writing on the red stamp's book with a calligraphy brush was new to them! We both use kanji letter, but I learned collecting red stamps is Japanese culture.

Thanks for teaching me how to read Chinese, which I have trouble.
Take care of the heat stroke and enjoy Japan!!

Hi there! I guided a gentle couple from Australia 🇦🇺

We went to Kofukuji, Todaiji, and Kasugataisha⛩️
I was surprised the man said he’s 91! How healthy he is!✨I’m impressed they’re so energetic in spite of the hot weather. It’s winter in their area!
They take a walk together every morning, which is one of the reasons for their health🤩

We talked a lot yesterday.
They were so surprised to hear that the buildings in Kofukuji was burned more than 100 times in total!😂
I’m surprised they can see not only kangaroos but also koalas from their house🦘🐨 They said the tip to find koalas is to find their poo on the ground! They can find the koala on the tree above.

At last, they said “You made our day!” I was so happy to hear that. They made my day, too🥰
Thank you for the wonderful time!

I guided nice tourists from India🇮🇳

She showed me beautiful scenery in India. There is beautiful blue ocean and I'd like to go there one day!

She likes Japanese anime. Jujutsu Kaisen was printed to her smart phone's case. I was surprised she ordered it in India! Also, she bought a T-shirt and a wooden sword in India! I found you like Japan, and it made me happy as well!

We ate green tea ice cream. I enjoyed talking with them and spent a good time!
I hope they have a great trip in Japan!

धन्यवाद।

Also, I guided a lovely family from Austlia🇦🇹

They listened my explanation carefully and asked me a lot of questions!
They bought a T-shirt with Buddhist terminology prints for souvenir. It means "one for all. all for one." I think These were good words. I hope you like it!

Danke schön.

I guided nice tourist from Australia 🇦🇺

In Australia, some people learned Japanese at school. So they learned Japanese a long time ago, and they haven't forgotten the hiragana literature. To remember the shape of hiragana, they used flash cards with pictures. For example, ひ(hi) represents a smile. く(ku) represents a beak. It was very interesting for me and I was surprised😳

He made me paper fortune teller with origami. It was new to me! They wrote a wish on origami and played it. I didn't know how to play it and I heard they did origami in primary school!

Thank you for spending time with me!
I hope you have a good trip to Japan!

Hi!! We guided group tourist from Italia 🇮🇹
We went to Todaiji, Kasuga Tanisha and Japanese garden.
They really interested in Japanese culture such as Manga or Japanese phrases. So they asked us a lot! We really enjoyed walking with chatting with them ;)
One of him asked me that why Japanese usually said “Arigatogozaima~~~su”. We stretch out the back sound. It was very surprised things for me because I didn’t realize that until he asked lol
That was a really nice time!

Thank you so much and hope you have a great rest of time in Japan ;)

Hi there! I guided guys from the US!🇺🇸

We visited Kofukuji temple, Yoshikien Garden,Todaiji Temple, Kasugataisha Shrine, Shiga Naoya Former House, and Ukimido Hall.

They just graduated from university and this is their graduation trip🎓

The man in the pictures does zen meditation, so he knows a lot about that and Buddhism✨
He even started a zen club in his university and did the meditation twice a day! I was impressed and happy to hear that he enjoys a Japanese culture with his friends😊

We also talked about our university lives! I was surprised that they must live in the university’s dormitory at least 2 years, and he was surprised that some students in Japan only have one lesson a week😲
It was fun to know the differences!

Thank you for the wonderful day!
I hope they will have a good start of the new chapter in their life✨

I guided a lovely couple from the USA🇺🇸
They were very funny and often told jokes🤣 I learned many English words from them.

She studied Japan for 6 months. I was surprised to see that she likes classical Japanese. She knows 'wagahaiha neko dearu, which English name is 'I Am a Cat.' Actually, she knows about these books more than me! When I was a student, reading the classics was a bit of a challenge, but I'll try to read it thanks to her.

They also liked animals so much and showed me their pets🥰 They visited some zoo in Japan and America. I hope you come to Nara to meet deer🦌

Thanks!

I guided a tourist from China🇨🇳

When she was a junior high school student, she came to Nara, but she was afraid to feed deer. So, she came to Nara again for that! Unfortunately, rice crackers were sold out😭 But we talked a lot and we spent good time!

She likes Attack on Titan very much. I learned Japanese culture from her, like comic market! It was new for me and very interesting!

I hope you have a great trip in Japan!

谢谢

In Naramachi we happend to meet some highschool's teachers and chatted a little about their jobs and relationship between Japan and Australia! It was a so great time and it was just he looked for in my guide🥹

Today I guided a visitor from America, but he lives in Tokyo now because his wife is Japanese. He taught me how difficult long distance love is🥹They have dated for three years in spite of they could meet each other once a year😍 And he used to work in ministry of foreign affairs so he has gone to 48 countries as work!! He recommended me some nice places. Actually, his favorite place is Thailand. I hear that people from Thailand is so polite and kind! I want to go someday! Thank you again for coming Nara🦌

Hi there!
Today, I guided a visitor from France🇫🇷 It is so hot and there are a lot of visitors in summer, so we visited since less crowded places.

For example, we visited toy museum. You are likely to think that toy museum is little bit childish, but you can see a lot of interesting and eye opening stuff.
We enjoyed rope puzzles there. They are complicated, but once you solve it, you will feel satisfied👍

We also did some cultural exchanges, like regions, politics, favorite places etc. I learned French a little, so French culture is very interesting for me.
She told me that in south part of France, cigale(cicada) is a symbolic insect. It is so interesting from me because in Japan, cicadas are also symbol of summer.

Thank you for visiting Nara and hope see you again!!
Have a safe trip😄

I guided a close family from America🇺🇸The boys didn't talk to me at first, but I was happy to get along with them more and more. It suddenly started raining on the way, but we had a lot of fun at the retro bookstore📕and food replica shop in the shopping street. In the origami experience, the older brother had learnd how to make it by himself so he made me a lot of origami💐In the calligraphy experience, the father was very enthusiastic about learning it.The younger brother was so cute in ninja cosplay🥷I was a big fan of him😂Did you have fun in Nara? From the US🇺🇸

Even though it was such a hot day, we walked through Kofukuji, Yoshikien Garden, Todaiji, Nigatsudo-hall, Kasugataisha, Naramachi, and the local university!😲
I was surprised because he said he doesn’t usually walk in the States and he’s from a cooler place than in Nara☀️

Since we walked a lot, of course, we ate a lot, as well!
We enjoyed three local foods, okonomiyaki, mochi from Nakatani-do, and shaved ice😋

He’s gonna be an English teacher in Taiwan, so he taught us some English phrases✨ I appreciate it!

Thank you for the wonderful day! We hope you’ll enjoy the year in Taiwan! Please come back to Japan😆

I guided lovely families from France and Taiwan.

They both like Pokemon and went to the Pokemon Centre. I was amazed at how popular Japanese anime is! They also both wore clothes with Japanese anime🥰

The family from France were interested in the buildings and statutes and asked me a lot of questions! The children were very cute! I heard that the son decided to go to Japan because of Pokemon!!! They told me about Pokemon names in France, but Pikachu was the same even in France!

The Taiwanese family knew Japanese a lot because they learned it at school and they liked Japan. When I talked to them, I felt the difference between Japanese and Chinese. Senbei (rice clacker) is pronounced the same way as in Japan, but they translated it, so we misunderstood each other. It was funny and I realised how similar Japanese and Chinese are.

These guides were hard because the heavy rain came several times, but I was happy to meet such nice people🫶
Thank you!!!

We went to Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple, and Yoshikien Garden.
I was surprised he had read the guidebook and knew why there were so many deer in Nara and how many there were.
Thank you for listening carefully even though it was very hot. It was interesting they asked me some unusual questions!😂

At Kofukuji Temple, Kishoten can be seen only for 7 days from January 1st. I learned the number 7 is important number in Christianity as well.

Please enjoy your trip to Japan✨

It was a very hot day!☀️ She told me that cicadas are very noisy in her hometown as they are in Nara. I was surprised that she said that Japan is more comfortable than Canada!
They were interested in all the places we visited and asked many questions, which made me happy!!!
I am glad that I could help them get to know Nara a little better, even though it was only for a short time.
Have a good trip!

Hello there!!
I guided a lovely family from the UK🇬🇧 It is extremely hot today, but two children seemed so powerful!!

First, we visited Todaiji, and talked a lot about religions. Two kids asked me a lot of interesting questions, so I really enjoyed this tour.

They also talked about Japanese anime, like Pokémon, demon slayer, my neighbor Totoro. I felt really happy because we seemed to enjoy the same anime despite of our nationality differences.

At the end of our tour, I got a cute handmade book maker as a gift. I have attached this picture.

Thank you and have a nice trip🥰
