These lotuses belong to the "Yosankouren" variety, known for their vivid pink color.

The Nasushiobara City Bon Dance Festival is a traditional event that has been held for over 100 years since 1916, and marked its 107th anniversary this year.
As evening falls, a large number of people dance around a large three-tiered yagura (tower) that is rare in Japan.
This event takes place in the schoolyard of Kuroiso Elementary School every year, and this year it was held on August 11th and 12th☺

The "Koshiki Yu Matsuri" (Ancient Style Hot Spring Festival) is held on the last Sunday of September every year in the Shiobara Onsen area, where prayers are offered for the abundant flow of hot springs.
The festival begins with collecting sacred hot spring water (Goshintou) at Motoyu Onsen, the origin of Shiobara Onsen, and presenting it at Shiobara Hachimangu Shrine.
Next, people dressed in traditional attire form a procession, carrying the sacred hot spring water and parading through the Shiobara Onsen town.
The procession concludes at Yuppo no Sato, where a ritual is performed to distribute the hot spring water to shrines and hot spring facilities in each district of Shiobara♨

The Momijidani Suspension Bridge, with a total length of 320 meters, is one of the largest pedestrian suspension bridges in Japan.
From early November to late November, the surrounding Shiohara Valley reaches the peak of its autumn foliage.

The Nasu Namikiri Fudoson Fire Festival was held at Konjoin Temple on June 28.
This festival is known for its spectacular ascetic practices, where practitioners walk barefoot over fire, step into kettles heated by flames, and swing torches alight with fire.

fil ice cream & coffee is a new ice cream shop that opened last November.
The ice creams in the photo are pink tomato (made with tomatoes from Nasushiobara) and white amazake ginger (made with amazake from Ohtawara). Amazake is a traditional sweet Japanese beverage made by adding rice koji to cooked rice, and it contains no alcohol.
These ice creams feature seasonal ingredients grown in Tochigi Prefecture. Perfect for hot summers🍦

“Rintaro” is a Japanese house cafe that sits quietly in the woods.
The signature menu of the restaurant is a cheesecake and cream puff made by the female shopkeeper.
Several works by the shopkeeper’s husband, who is a potter, are on display in the shop.

The "Peony Festival" was held at Myounji Temple in May.
More than 3,000 peonies of various kinds bloomed in the temple grounds.
On Sundays during the festival, matcha table were also held, so I could have a tasteful time.

“Seikinro”, located in the Shiobara Onsen town, is a hot spring inn that has been in operation since the first year of the Meiji era (1868).
The Meiji-era literary master Koyo Ozaki stayed at this inn and wrote his famous novel “Konjiki Yasha(The Gold Demon)” there.
Originally, this hot spring inn was called "Sanoya", but it was renamed "Seikinro" because it served as the model for the inn "Seikinro" in the novel.
The three-story wooden main building, constructed during the Meiji period (1868-1912), and the room where Koyo Ozaki stayed can be visited by guests staying in the annex or the new building♨

Numappara Marshland is a wetland situated at an altitude of 1,230 meters on the western edge of the Nasu mountain range.
It is located in the Itamuro area of Nasu-Shiobara City, and is part of the Nikko National Park.
There are well-maintained wooden paths that allow you to walk around and admire various flowers and plants throughout the seasons.
It takes about 15 minutes from the parking lot to reach the wetland, and it takes about 40 minutes to walk around the wetland and enjoy the scenery☺

"NAGOMI CAMP" is a private glamping facility with a limit of 4 groups per day, which opened in the spring of 2024.
