Globalwheels are passionate about cycling, Japan & exploration. Born out of a desire to bring the experience of cycling Japan to all. We value freedom on the road & encourage you to create your own unique adventure.
It’s been 3 years we founded Globalwheels and we’ve been astonished by the number of passionate cyclists wanting to explore parts of Japan that are well ‘off the beaten track’. Many riders take in the main sights and cities along the way but more often or not their highlights are discovered in the lesser known towns and the beautiful Japanese countryside. So many riders start their adventures with a look of trepidation about what lies await on their ride. Worried about the language barrier, the food, the culture and road ahead. The return is a different story. Naturally, after a good work out riders are feeling the all the benefits of exercise but mostly they are feeling a huge sense of achievement from completing their journey and facing their initial anxieties head on. Tasting the local dishes and experiencing the rich and unique culture of each region, riders are briefly immersed into a Japanese way of life that exists outside of the larger metropolis; and in many cases has not changed for decades and even centuries.
Helping riders explore Japan and create their own cycling adventures has become much more fulfilling than we could have imagined at the start of the project. It’s been an incredible journey for us and we are looking forward to helping more riders discover the ‘real’ Japan in the future.
