To maximize your day tour, head first to (1) Arashiyama Bamboo Grove (the farthest place if your pick up location is in Osaka)—a dreamlike soaring stalk of bamboos and experience one of Japan’s soundscapes. (2) Gion District, Ninenzaka & Sannenzaka is Kyoto’s most famous Geisha district. It is a place where wooden storefronts and entertaiment represent the past and present of Japan. Make sure to also visit (3) Fushimi Inari Taisha—the head shrine of the kami-inari. The shrine sits at the base of a mountain also named Inari. Before heading back home, (4) Dotonbori offers a feel-good vibe where night life, shopping and busking are incredibly enjoyed!
💢It is a little challenging to visit all these places in one day (especially when you are traveling in groups) because of the limited number of train stations in Kyoto.
