Fantastic Torii⛩ and where to find them😏~
Torii, literally bird abode in Japanese, is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine.
When people talk about Torii, the picture of a red Torii gate surround by green nature🌿 or next to waterside may come to mind for most. Words like “traditional”, “historical”, “mysterious”, “serenity”, or “solemnity” associate with Torii at most of the time. However, in Japan🗾, you can find Torii not only in the peaceful countryside or scenic place, but also in cities, among the “concrete jungle”. And it’s also one of the most attractive points of Japanese culture to me-- the traditional always stays in harmony with the modern.
Explore 👣the city and find👀 them! You can try to search the word “Torii” in google maps, small Torii gate icons⛩ will show you the Torii nearby.
By the way, the Torii in video is the gate of Fukutoku Shrine, located at Nihonbashi area, which is a center district of Tokyo.

The adorable “Akabeko”,a red cow shakes its head up and down humorously, is a traditional toy in Aizu area of Fukushima prefecture.
“Aka” means red in Japanese and “Beko” means cow or bull in one dialect of the Tohoku region.
There is a folklore surrounding the Akabeko that says that when the smallpox epidemic 🦠broke out in the Aizu region, only the children that had an Aakabeko were left uninfected. The black spots on the cow are believed to be traces of blisters caused by smallpox, shielding the children from the epidemic.
One of the Akabeko in the video is made by our Ntour staff in a Akabeko DIY experience project.
"Novel coronavirus, disperse! Everyone, let's do our best together!"👏👏👏👏
Along with this message, the Akabeko surely bring you good luck and happiness too!

The Torii (鳥居) ⛩ is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred.
Torii could be found around Shrine, and the most famous Torii in Japan is Senbon Torii in Kyoto Fushimi Inari-taisha. But, different shrine has its own Torii, you have to come and see, the difference between them. You also could meet a Torii when you climbing mountain, because most of mountain top in Japan has a shrine. 🗻

«The miracle triangle that escaped the fire of war»
«The miracle triangle that escaped the fire of war»
Right next to Akihabara, where our travel agency's head office is, there is an area called the "miracle triangle" where the old-fashioned restaurant houses remain.
*Japanese Sweets shop "Takemura" - built in 1930.
*Anglerfish Hot-pot restaurant "Isegen" - built in 1932.
*Chicken Hot-pot restaurant "Botan" - built in 1929.
*Soba (Buckwheat noodle) restaurant "Kanda Yabu-soba" - built in 1923. However, it was burnt down in the fire in February 2013. Then it was rebuilt.
*Soba restaurant "Kanda-Matsuya" - built in 1925.
You can see the restaurants built after the Great Kanto Earthquake (1923) at "Suda-cho" and "Awaji-cho" in the southwest of Akihabara. This area remained miraculously unburned during the Tokyo Firebombing Air Raid (1944–1945) in WWII.
"Takemura" is the shop in a precious building, which is designated as "Tokyo-Metropolitan-Selected Historic Building" (built in 1930).
Speaking of "Takemura", "Awa-Zenzai" (*Millet cake with sweet soup made of red beans. Not offered in the summer) and "Age-Manju" (*Fried bun with a bean‐jam filling), which are full of homemade bean-jam, are famous.
In recent years, it has become a "sacred place" for anime fans since it appeared as a "heroine's house" in the anime "Love Live!".
It seems that young male guests and overseas anime lovers formed a long line at the storefront because they wanted Age-Manju.
I’ve ordered "Tokoroten" at Takemura.
Tokoroten, made from seaweed, is attractive for its coolness and moderate elasticity like jelly. So in Japan, it's "summer food" when we lose our appetite or want coolness.
Tokoroten is also low in calories, so perhaps people who care about beauty and health might be eating it overseas.
The restaurant itself might be a museum of history in the area.
If you visit Japan, why not try eating at a restaurant like this?

Sora Terrace
Located at the top of Ryuoo Ski Park’s ropeway lift of Nagano, the 1,770m Sora Terrace has stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Kosha and the Hokushin Gogaku (Mt. Iizuna, Kurohime, Togakushi, Madarao, and Myoko).
When conditions are just right, clouds completely cover the valley below, becoming a vast sea interrupted only by rocky peaks. This phenomenon, called "unkai" in Japanese, can be seen regularly here—appearing on 63.5% of the days the terrace is open. Even if the clouds don’t roll in, the view from the top is truly magnificent, showcasing the unforgettable scenery of the Japanese Alps.

Travel, helping you to get away from the stresses of work and the grind of daily life, and leading you to an amazing place where you can just relax and enjoy yourself. At the moment, it may become a “luxury good” as the widespread infection of Covid-19.

For some special events, such as school sports day or field trip, omelette rice bento which is loaded with various vegetables and nutrition is always one of the perennial favorite for all ages.
Now, let’s keep calm and social distance, and wait for the day of new departure ~

OTARU CANAL - Beautiful canal lined by old warehouses
Otaru Canal (小樽運河, Otaru Unga) was a central part of the city's busy port in the first half of the 20th century. Large vessels were unloaded by smaller ships, which then transported the goods to warehouses along the canal.
The canal became obsolete when modern dock facilities allowed for direct unloading of larger vessels. Thanks to a citizens' movement, a part of the canal was beautifully restored in the 1980s instead of being landfilled, while the warehouses were transformed into museums, shops and restaurants.
The canal makes for a pleasant stroll during the day, when artists present their works to passing tourists, and during the evenings when old fashioned gas lamps are lit and provide a romantic atmosphere. The canal also serves as the main site of the town's Snow Light Path Festival.
