On the day, there is an ancient Japanese custom where it is said that eating eel, or eating something with a hiragana “u” in its name will keep you from suffering from the summer heat.
Have you ever tried eel donburi? This video is one of our reccomend and we call it "una-toro don". Una means eel, and toro is grated yam! Most of Kanto tour we offer include this meal, so you can try it if you like :)
