The sky was clear!
In Japan, November 3th is a holiday called Bunkanohi, a day to promote and celebrate traditional and modern Japanese culture.
It is said that it often gets sunny on Bunkanohi.☀️
In Otsu City, the sky was very clear, and it felt good!
The picture below is taken at the Otsu City History Museum.
You can see Lake Biwa and Mt. Mikami from the museum.
Mt. Minami is also called Oumi Fuji (近江富士).🗻
The museum is close to Inase. It is about a 15-minute walk.
I recommend you visit this spot to enjoy the beautiful views. 🤗

この場所は、粋世から徒歩15分のところにある、大津市歴史博物館から見える景色で、琵琶湖と三上山が見えます！
三上山は別名、近江富士とよばれています。🗻

In Mii Temple, leaves are turning red little by little.
We are excited about the arrival of autumn. 🍁
It's nice to go to the temple sometimes and enjoy seeing colorful leaves and taking photos.
There is a mountain maple tree in Inase’s yard. You can see beautiful autumn leaves in Inase, too 😊

We held a tea party upon request from one of our foreign guests.🍵
The participants are from Canada, Spain, and China.
We enjoyed the sound of making tea in the quiet tea room.

The participants were interested in the black tea cup, which the owner of Inase made, and the teacup with a picture of Mt. Fuji.🗻

We had a great time🍵Thank you so much♪

Autumn Sky！
The sky seems higher when autumn comes.
The weather has been fine recently.☀️
It was very nice.
In Mii Temple, autumn leaves have started little by little.
The temple near Inase is about a 10-minute walk.
You should go see autumn leaves and visit the temple and enjoy the view.🍂🍁

三井寺は、粋世から徒歩10分ほどのところにあります。

Biwako Flower Fountains

There are fountains in Lake Biwa. They are called Biwako Flower Fountains (びわこ花噴水).
You can see the fountains from Otsu Port, which is about a 10-minute walk from Inase.
If you want to go see the fountains, please feel free to ask the Inase staff.
The water flows every night for an hour except the second and fourth Wednesdays.

In Japan, we have a custom of appreciating the long autumn night. You can have a beautiful autumn night while seeing the fountains!

びわこ花噴水
琵琶湖には噴水があり、『びわこ花噴水』とよんでいます。
粋世から歩いて約10分の大津港で見ることができます。
噴水を見に行きたい方は、お気軽に粋世スタッフにお声かけください。
日本には秋の夜長を愛でる習慣があり、噴水を観ながら秋の夜長を楽しむのもいかがでしょうか。

Otsu Festival (Honmatsuri)

We could hear the sounds of Ohayashi (Japanese traditional music) from Inase today.
The atmosphere of today’s festival was more gorgeous than yesterday because they performed Karakuri dolls shows!
The highlights of the festivals are Karakuri, Ohayashi, and Chimakimaki.
It is said that Chimaki is a good-luck charm.

One of the Inase staff members got Chimaki which was thrown from Genkyuudenzan (月宮殿山).
When you come to Inase, please check the Chimaki.

大津祭り本祭
昼間の粋世は、遠くからお囃子が聞こえていました！
昨夜の雰囲気とはまた違い、からくりが乗せられ一層華やかさが増していました！
大津祭りの醍醐味は、からくり、お囃子に加え、粽撒き（ちまきまき）です。
粽は厄除けになるそうです。

粋世スタッフが、月宮殿山から撒かれた粽を取ることができました！

The Otsu Festival (Yomiya) is being held tonight.
People are playing Ohayashi (traditional Japanese music), and the atmosphere of the festival is really good.
Tomorrow, they will perform Karakuri, which is the second oldest in Japan.
Please come visit Otsu and enjoy the festival!

Otsu Festival
(Registered as Important Intangible Cultural Heritage)

The City of Otsu will hold Otsu Festival on October 12 (Sat) and 13 (Sun).

The festival venue is about 10 minute walk from Inase.
You can see thirteen Hikiyama (festival floats) and Japanese Karakuri dolls show while listening to some elegant Japanese traditional music.

The festival has a history of 400 years.
Please come visit Otsu and enjoy the festival!

Upon request from one of our foreign guests, the owner of Inase held a Japanese-Bushi-style tea party and invited our guests.
It was a great opportunity for our foreign guests to interact with each other.
We had a good time. Thank you so much!

We just had a tea ceremony with our guests for the first time since Covid.
I felt a bit emotional because it seemed like this is another proof that everything had returned to normal as we used to do this really really often back then…
