This coastline was formed by lava that flowed out from Mount Omuro when it erupted about 4,000 years ago. Thanks to that, there is a nearly 10 km-long trail along the coastline🌊

Thanks to its rich soil created by volcanic ash, Mishima is one of the leading radish-producing areas in Shizuoka Prefecture. That is the reason why the sweet, deep-rooted daikon (a type of radish) grows there.
