During the day on weekdays, I work at a company that does web production and publishing. We have a record player in the office, and we play music that is quiet but doesn't make you sleepy so as not to disturb other staff members' work. This video is of a bookshelf in the company. I've been arranging records on this bookshelf lately. If you keep your records in four different places, you might end up buying the same record by mistake, or you might think you have several copies and give them away.
平日の昼間はWEB制作と出版などする会社で仕事をしています。社内にはレコードプレーヤーがあって、他のスタッフさんのしごとの邪魔にならないように静かめだけれど眠くならないような音楽を流しています。この動画は社内にある本棚。この本棚に、最近レコードを並べています。4カ所に自分のレコードを置いておくと、間違えて同じレコードを買ってしまったり、何枚かあると思って人にあげてしまったりするので。ルーリード、ピンクフロイド、クラフトワーク、J J CALE、ライトニンホプキンス、高中正義さん、山下達郎さん、大滝詠一さん。これは小学生のときからずっと聴いてます。
The record I often listen to on winter mornings is Dominic's work. I bought it about 30 years ago with my friend Ryo at a second-hand goods store in Odawara. The purchase price was 100 yen. It's too cheap. I've listened to it hundreds of times already. It sounds like an ambient song by Haruomi Hosono, or a song composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto. I think it is a very valuable work.
冬の朝によく聴くレコードはドミニクさんの作品です。30年くらい前に友人のリョウ君と小田原にあった古道具屋さんで購入しました。購入した金額は100円でした。安すぎます。もう何百回も聴いています。細野晴臣さんのアンビエント曲のようでもあり、坂本龍一さんの作る曲のようでもあります。とても価値がある作品と思います。

フィリピン人の女性が店に入ってきて、ギターを弾いていいですか？って言うから、どうぞって言って中に入れました。そうしたらソファに座ってスマホをセッティングしてギターを弾きながら歌って3、4分して何も買わずに帰りました。
その1時間後に今度はブラジル人の三人組が来て、ギターを弾いて良いですか？って言うから、またか、、、、と思いながらも、どうぞって答えたら、中に入ってボサノヴァの曲を歌い出して、それをもう一人の男性が動画で撮影して、その2人の姿を外にいた同伴の女性がビデオを撮って。楽しそうにやっていました。僕もマシュケナダの歌を一緒に歌って、瞬間的に大盛り上がり。
彼らが店から出る時に、彼はブラジルで一番有名な画家。僕は音楽家。来日したのは日本にあるブラジル大使館から招聘されたからって言うんです。インスタグラムでフォローされたので見たら、フォロワー35万人くらいいました。
ヴィム・ヴェンダース監督がサイアムタイムに来たときも、朝、予定の時間よりも早く来やがって、はい、どうそ入ってください。そこ座って良いですよ。はい、はい。なんて雰囲気で大滝詠一さんの『ロング・バケイション』のB面を3回、山下達郎さんの『BIG WAVE』、クラフトワークの『エレクトリック・カフェ』を一緒に聴きながら2時間ほど過ごしたんですが、後でヴィム・ヴェンダース監督だと教えてもらって、タイ米の焼酎を差し上げたりしたのですが、それが僕の人生のとても良い思い出になっています。
残念ながらパーフェクトデイズの映画では大滝詠一さんの曲は使われなかったです。でも最近知ったのですが、

Unfortunately, Eiichi Otaki’s songs were not used in the Perfect Days movie. However, I recently learned that the first song on the B side of ``Long Vacation,’’ which I played three times to director Wim Wenders, is ``Rainy Wednesday,’’ and the members playing this song are Haruomi Hosono on bass, Tatsuo Hayashi on drums, Shigeru Suzuki on guitar, and Masataka Matsutoya on keyboards.

I thought it would be better to manage my records in one place. If you don't manage them in one place, you'll end up with a lot of identical records. Right now, here are two copies of Tatsuro Yamash*ta's ``SPACY''. There may be other ``SPACY'' at my parents' house in Odawara. So starting in February 2025, I decided to use the bookcase in the basement of Yoyogi as a record shelf and manage my records in one place.
自分のレコード盤は一ヶ所で管理したほうが良いと思いました。一ヶ所で管理しないと、同じレコード盤が増えてしまうのです。いまここに山下達郎さんの『SPACY』が2枚あります。もしかすると小田原の実家に、ほかにも『SPACY』があるかもしれません。なので2025年2月から代々木の地下にある書棚をレコード棚にして、一ヶ所でレコード盤の管理をすることにしました。

ピンクフロイドは小学6年の時に近所のお兄さんからレコードを借りて聞き始めました。その時に借りたレコードは他にもいろいろあって、はっぴいえんど『CITY』、『クリムゾンキングの宮殿』、『デレクアンドドミノス』『ビートルズ赤盤』など。聴く音楽はその時からあまり変わってないです。
