Did you know? 🌟
While Japan traditionally hasn’t celebrated Christmas, the holiday has transformed into a unique occasion filled with its own charm. Now, it's a time for couples to come together, often indulging in the iconic KFC and delightful Christmas cakes instead of the usual family feasts.

Where exactly did the KFC tradition come from? The KFC tradition began in the 1970s when a clever marketing campaign promoted fried chicken as the perfect Christmas meal, and it quickly caught on!🍗 (Turkey isn't commonly available in Japan!)

As we celebrate these joyful traditions, Merry Christmas from GoWithGuide! Wishing everyone a pleasant winter holiday! 🎄✨

Come autumn, Tokyo reveals one of its most spectacular transformations along Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Avenue (神宮外苑いちょう並木). Here, nearly 150 towering ginkgo trees, planted in the 1920s, create a dazzling tunnel of gold that stops even the most hurried Tokyoites in their tracks.🍂

Stretching for about 300 meters between the Aoyama-Itchome crossing and Gaienmae, this pristine row of ginkgo trees (イチョウ, ichou) puts on its most magnificent show typically from late November to early December. The trees, standing like golden sentinels at around 25 meters tall, line the pedestrian paths that flank the main street, transforming an otherwise ordinary urban thoroughfare into what locals affectionately call "Icho Namiki" (The Ginkgo Avenue).

This isn't just any tree-lined street – it's a living piece of Tokyo's modern history. The avenue was part of the grand vision for the outer gardens of Meiji Shrine, designed in 1926 by Dr. Seiroku Honda, a pioneering figure in Japanese forestry. Today, it connects several of Tokyo's cultural landmarks, from the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery to the new National Stadium, making it as much a cultural artery as it is a natural wonder.

⛱️Imagine sailing through a seascape where over 1,600 limestone islands rise like dragon's teeth from emerald waters – this is Halong Bay, whose name literally means "descending dragon." In November, when the summer heat retreats and winter's chill hasn't quite arrived, the bay reveals one of its most enchanting faces.

As your ship glides through the Gulf of Tonkin, you're navigating the same waters that have inspired Vietnamese legends for over 20 million years. These ancient karst formations, shaped by countless monsoons and tides, hide secret caves draped in stalactites and shelter floating fishing villages that have called these waters home for generations.🎣🐠

November brings what locals consider the bay's sweet spot: temperatures hover comfortably between 20-25°C (68-77°F), and while you might catch some misty mornings, they only add to the mystique, wrapping the limestone pillars in a gentle haze that makes them appear to float between sea and sky. The occasional light drizzle means fewer crowds, making it an ideal time to explore iconic spots like Sung Sot Cave or kayak through hidden lagoons.

🍂Perched on the slopes of Mount Toham in Gyeongju, Bulguksa Temple tells a story that's over 1,200 years old. This UNESCO World Heritage site isn't just a temple – it's a masterpiece that captures the golden age of the Silla Kingdom, when Korea's art and architecture reached spectacular heights. 🇰🇷

Walk through the Two Dragons Bridge, and you'll feel the same sense of wonder that visitors have experienced since 774 AD. Above you, carved wooden beams dance with color, while stone pagodas rise from the earth like ancient guardians. The most famous of these, Dabotap and Seokgatap, aren't just architectural marvels – they're symbols of the Buddha's teachings about the ideal and material worlds.

A short journey up the mountainside leads you to what many consider Korea's greatest treasure: Seokguram Grotto. Here, sitting in eternal meditation, a sublime Buddha statue gazes out over the East Sea through an engineering marvel that's kept it safe for centuries. The grotto's dome, built with precision that would impress modern architects, has protected this sacred figure through wars, storms, and time itself.

Whether you're watching the morning mist roll through the ancient pillars or listening to evening prayers echo across the courtyards, Bulguksa reminds us that some places don't just preserve history – they keep it alive.

🌿✨ Siwa Oasis: A true marvel in Egypt's Western Desert! Did you know it’s one of the most remote oases in the country, located 560 km from Cairo? 🏜️ Famous for its rich Berber heritage, Siwa boasts over 300,000 date palms and 70,000 olive trees. The natural springs, like the iconic Cleopatra’s Bath, are perfect for a refreshing dip. Historically, Siwa held the Oracle of Amun, where even Alexander the Great sought answers. And here’s a unique twist: Siwa’s homes are built using karsheef, a mix of salt and clay, creating structures that blend seamlessly with the desert. 🏺💧
