小豆島がサステナブルな観光地として 国際認証「シルバーアワード」を受賞しました

　この度、小豆島観光協会・小豆島町・土庄町の三者共同で、持続可能な観光の国際的な認証機関である「グリーン・デスティネーションズ」（本部：オランダ、以下GD）の審査に挑戦しました。その結果、地域を表彰するアワードで、小豆島が見事シルバーアワードを受賞いたしました。
　「GD アワード」に申請する観光地は、グローバル・サステナブル・ツーリズム協議会（GSTC）の承認を受けたGD基準に基づいて審査され、そのスコアに応じてブロンズ、シルバー、ゴールド、プラチナの各賞、または最上位であるサーティファイド（GSTC認証）を受けることができます。
　これまでに国内でアワードを受賞した地域は、岩手県釜石市のゴールド、北海道ニセコ町のシルバーの２地域のみとなっております。
　今回の受賞により、世界的に関心の高まるサステナブルツーリズムの先進地に仲間入りをしたことで、小豆島の国際的な認知度向上に繋がることが期待されます。
