Last spring, we made ‘Nerikiri’, a traditional Japanese sweets at Mirakuan. We loved how fun and delicious it was, so we wanted to know what kind of sweets we’ll be making this autumn.
Before this autumn ends, we had the opportunity to learn how to make traditional Japanese sweets at Mirakuan. Here you can enjoy making a traditional Japanese sweets in the workshop class with a professional. Let’s see what we’ve made!!
Since it's autumn time, the sweets we're going to make are shaped like maple leave and Sasanqua Camellia (サザンカ), which are symbols of autumn in Japan.
It was not to hard to make. The professional confectioner will explain and demonstrate every step, so for foreigners or those who have never done it before, it’s not difficult to understand.
Please enjoy a moment of Japanese culture to make memories of Yugawara at Mirakuan.
Children and adults alike are welcome to join.
Please reserve online.*This activity is available for a minimum of 2 people.

Celebrate Children’s Day with Koinobori in Yugawara! 🎏
May 5th is Japan’s Children's Day or Kodomo No Hi (こどもの日) in Japanese. 🧐It is a day set aside to respect children's personalities and to celebrate their happiness. Usually households that have a boy will hoist fierce and colorful carp flags 🎏 (called “koi-nobori (鯉幟)” ) outside their homes. You can also witness the same in various public places across the country even in Yugawara!
Every year, 😍carp-shaped streamers are hang in Izumi Park, as if they’re swimming in the sky. Special events for everyone to join such as making carp flags, treasure hunting games, and Yo-yo fishing, etc will be held too. Please come and join us. 📸 Let’s take photos with the carp streamers swimming in the sky and have a great time with your family here!
